It was a dumb kid. Wasn't paying attention. He tried telling the cop I ran the red light. Let's say that didn't last long. 98d32c75040d5842876588e54276aa44.jpge9de5d656f2ab9e4f1b284e6facce002.jpg9928509f08b178e9a5f99618d03632bf.jpg

I was looking at one of these...figure since its built with a capacitor and not battery operated I figure it will hold up better in NJ with its swing of temperatures *(Winter I see as low as 5 degrees F / and summer as hot as 100 degrees F.) Gotta love NJ..smh.

Also the guys who plug there dash cams under the dash in the cigar outlet, does the outlet eventually turn off or is that always hot?

(Like if the truck is off in the drive way, does the outlet still have power always? ) Just Wondering...

I hard wired mine (I have an A119) to turn on/off with ignition and have had pretty much no problems with it. Lately I've noticed the video has a beeping sound in it which is coming from the camera, but it's not enough that I care.

Most recently, I have used it to identify the dealership was lying to me about the service done on my truck. Hopefully I'll get the truck back tomorrow, fixed, and figure out how much of the last week has been lies as well.

That beeping, if like mine, may be to do with it switching modes. If I run over a large bump it goes into a different mode thinking I may have been hit (it's called event mode or something). You can adjust the sensitivity of the camera and make it really need to hit a big bump for that to activate or you can turn off the warning sounds/light so it just seems like a seamless recording. Not sure if yours is the same, but that's what I'm guessing it might be.

Really like that it got decent reviews on Amazon. (A119)

And now im gonna be "that guy" ...Do you have a DIY on the hard wire install? Im very interested in the setup.

Did you use the fuse block tap that is linked with the Amazon purchase? Just wondering...

Also what SD card did you find that seems to work best?

Thanks.

Nah, mine is a rythmic beeping, "beep, beep, beep" consistently throughout the video.

Mine isn't hardwired, but does come on with the truck and off with the truck. I just mounted it beside my rearview mirror and concealed the wire above the windshield, down the A-pillar, through the door weather stripping, and then down to the floor, plugging it into the cigarette lighter at the bottom of the centre console. This plug turns on and off with the truck, where as others do not. Simple, clean, and didn't have to hard wire it in. I also used the microSD card that came with my camera, so I don't really have an opinion on what might be good or bad. Haven't had an issue with it yet.

I'm using this add-a-circuit https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01I8JK0HW/ref=oh_aui_search_detailpage?ie=UTF8&psc=1 (it was a pain finding the right size since the one from my 03 didn't fit the new fuse block).

If I get my truck back tomorrow, I'll post some pictures. Really it wasn't that difficult, I used a 12v to 5v(USB) DC downconverter, ran a long USB cable (2m I believe) between the fuse box on the drivers side, up the pillar (mind the airbag), across to the overhead center console (which is where the extension cable ended up) then a short 2' USB A to Mini cable running down with the front facing camera wiring and then over to the camera (which is just right of the front facing camera).
