PREORDER YOURS NOW

BILSTEIN is moving into the performance off-road aftermarket segment with a new, patented ZoneControl™ coilover system. This vehicle specific bolt-in module combines remote reservoirs, anodized aluminum components, position sensitive valving features, exclusive race style fittings, adjustable bypass tubes, and more! All of these features are packaged in a kit that will elevate your driving experience, both on and off road. Set to debut at SEMA 2016, the Bilstein 8100 Series Adjustable Coilover is a highly engineered product line designed for the serious off-road enthusiast, and is a declaration of BILSTEIN’s commitment to revamp their efforts in the off-road industry. Completely owner rebuildable, the 8100 Series of shocks will be available for a wide range of vehicles. The remote reservoir, attached with a high temperature hose, provides a greater resistance to heat and adds to the fade-free performance BILSTEIN’s monotube technology is known for. Recognizing the unforgiving environments in which the 8100 Series would need to perform, BILSTEIN opted to use a 22mm case hardened piston rod, a high temperature 3-stage sealing system, and the highest quality billet machined components for long lasting performance and durability.

14591602_10154051431338683_9581551737457BILSTEIN’s all-new B8 8112 shock absorber contains patented ZoneControl® CR technology; a position sensitive damping system with 3 compression zones and 2 rebound zones, controlled by 3 independent working pistons. Additionally, B8 8112 shock absorbers feature rebound cut-off (RCO) technology which is a secondary rebound piston that provides seamless and smooth spring deceleration. B8 8112 shock absorbers are a direct fit 60mm coilover with a 60mm remote reservoir and custom spring.

The rear B8 8100 (Bypass) direct-fit shocks have high flow bypass tubes that offer position sensitive damping with independent external adjustment for rebound and compression.

The first 8112 coilover kit to be released in Spring of 2017 will be for the extremely popular 2005 – 2015 Toyota Tacoma (Bilstein 47-269279). The matching rear 8100 double bypass shocks are part numbers 25-269802 (L), 25-269819 ®.

To celebrate the introduction of this new series, the BILSTEIN team will drive their 2016 SEMA booth vehicle completely off-road from their US headquarters in Poway, (San Diego) California to the 2016 SEMA Show in Las Vegas, Nevada. The 400 plus mile trip includes some of the roughest terrain found in the US, and will take them over gravel, sand, rocks, jumps, washouts and whoops.

The adventure starts in Poway, CA and ends at the legendary 104 year old Pioneer Saloon (Goodsprings, Nevada). The team will be greeted by BILSTEIN customers and media, followed by food, drinks, epic video of the adventure and the official presentation of our new shock series.

Following the stop at the Pioneer Saloon, the trucks will be driven straight to the SEMA Show and parked in the BILSTEIN booth, dirty and all. Visit the BILSTEIN SEMA booth (#23361) to view the video, talk to the members that participated in the adventure and learn more about our new shock absorber series.

So spring 2017 for the Toyotas...that means we won't see these until like 2020?

I mean we're still waiting on the 6112s...not going to hold my breath on those anymore.

The whole deal with the 8112s is that they will be built by Bilstein Offroad in Poway, CA and not on the main production line. Unlike the 6112 releases that are months late, they are a month ahead of schedule for the 8112.

Enough, totally disgusting. Toyota is not even top 5 in sales. Just another reason why Bilstein can't deliver on promises.

Those look like some really nice shocks.

Bilstein has tons of R&D already done for the Toyotas as they've been used over the years in various TRD packages. Also, a higher percentage of Toyota owners seem willing to spend money on higher end suspension parts...

Exactly. The 6112 was a spin-off of the TRD Pro suspension Toyota paid them to develop.

I'd rather go with an already proven setup for a full size truck like Fox/King/Icon. I had Bilstein 5100 on my last 2 trucks, a Tundra and a F150 and while they achieved the increase in height i was looking for, they changed the ride characteristics for the worse. Stiff and going slow over speed bumps and such they would "top out" violently. Never again.

Comparing the 5100's to these is ridiculous. It's like saying a Raptor will get stuck in the mud because you once had a Focus and it did...so Fords suck in the mud....

They do, that's why I bought a Chevy.

A higher percentage of Toyota owners? 754,436 GM full size trucks sold vs 227,55 Toyota 3rd quarter September sales numbers.. so 70% less sales, from a cheap Japanese company? If every single Toyota truck owner added after market suspension and only 35% of GM truck owners did, GM would be the company to bet on. Only a fool would bet on the Jap company. Blistein did R&D for GM in the past, a few of my trucks had their shocks (Think yellow and blue).

The problem is that math is bunk. It's probably fewer than 1% of GM owners who are willing to spend $2000+ on a pair of shocks. That's not a high number of customers to beat.

I think you may be missing just how popular the Toyotas are with the serious offroading crowd--just look at some of their discussion boards. Quite a few companies make stuff for them but not GM--from mid or long travel kits to rock sliders; you're covered with a Toyota.

Bilstein never did R&D with GM for a real performance offroad suspension because GM has never offered one on any of its vehicles. Until now, of course, with the upcoming ZR2 (but with Multimatic). Hopefully that signals a change at GM and they'll do something with the fullsize sometime soon, but I'm not holding my breath.

In order to be fair, I think I'd need to tie 3/4 of my brain behind my back before responding to that impressively ignorant diatribe.

We all love GM here, but some of us are adults and mature enough to be honest. We are disappointed GM has not made anything to compete with the Raptor, Power Wagon or TRD. This has caused a great many offroad enthusiasts to look to other brands in order to get something better out of the box, so they aren't completely starting from scratch, and to get options the aftermarket doesn't cover well yet--disconnecting swaybars, front lockers/torque sensing diffs, etc. Where the customers go, the aftermarket follows.

I have no doubt you see lots of lifted trucks. Try keeping a tally of how many of them are still using the stock springs and front shocks vs. $4000+ shocks. Get back to us with the results.

Jon A - you really have a strong understanding of the market, the aftermarket, the shock tech and the products. You have pretty much nailed it.

I love GM, but when you go to the desert races or the offroad events you see Ford and Toyota 20 to 1 over GM trucks. The only real GM product you see is 90s C/K trucks.

SEMA was packed with a ton of lifted GM trucks, but almost all were the kind with chrome underbodies and 24" wheels. 150k trucks that will dont see the dirt.
