It depends on what he plans to do, but kings are a good too.

Icon uses proprietary nitrogen fittings making at home rebuilds more difficult, valving stacks as well! Not saying they are bad, just do some reading.

I ran a very expensive set up from them for years and it wasn't a big enough reason for me to swap but from brand new I'm going King everytime.

The special fitting is on the smooth body shocks. The reservoir shocks have a normal shrader valve. The needle for the smooth body is cheap.

You guys are killing me haha. I was looking at crazy mid travel kits initially and then talked myself back down to Earth in that, realistically, those would be way overkill and I care more about daily driving than I do relatively mild off roading a few times a year.

So I was just going to slap Fox 2.0's on there and call it a day but then started reading more about Icon and thinking that was the way to go and now I have a buddy saying consider a CST setup and also reconsidering Kings haha.

I legit have no idea what to do. All I know is a hate the Ranchos and need to do something.

I'm too tall for a Tacoma and wish they had the Hilux diesels here in the states. I love my Silverado just need better suspension after doing support for the ultra marathon in big bend state park last year it was made abundantly clear that I had enough power and clearance but not enough suspension. I now have a bad shock upfront and ball joints on a truck wit 33,000 miles. Ozona hunting property doesn't help either.

Which ball joints are going bad?

But seriously I chose Icons for their road manners. I don't spend all of my time off-roading, but the places I do go require some good suspension. I chose the CDCV shocks because I would like to be able to soften them up for on road and stiffen them up for when I hit south and Southwest Texas and have to drop off some big rocks and ledges. Icons have digressive valuing like Bilstein and loved my Billy's I had before. That was my decision making process if anyone cares.

I'm patiently waiting for the Bilstein 6112's to be released, coupled with some uniball UCA, 34s, some 17s and done.

I have had King 3.0s and a mazzula kit in my cart a few times already [emoji15]

Trying to avoid going down the rabbit hole like I did on my last rig. (LT Tacoma) especially considering a full size is way too big to run on the "good" trails we have around here.
