Thanks for the update.  For $133 I decided to give it a shot.  I'll see how they stack up against the Morimoto D5S's I have right now.

The Morimoto and Dama bulbs are both 35w You wont see a difference between the two bulbs unless you are going from 6500k Morimoto to the 5500k Dama. Then you will only see a slight color change.

Morimoto is now making  a 45w d5s bulb in 5500k and 6500k They are $370 a set. Those will be brighter than the Dama and the older 35w Morimoto bulbs.

Are they going to have ballasts, or bulbs only?

That I don’t mind. It’s the bulbs, and then ballasts separate I’m not a fan off.

One big plus for separate ballasts are the bulbs themselves are cheap compared to a D5S bulb/ballast.  Bulbs do have a finite life span.  My Morimoto 35W HID kit just lost a bulb at 3.5 years.  Of course in the 2015 with the daytime running lights turning on the ballast relay, my low beams are on all the time the truck is running.

Bulb is attached to the ballasts. Plug and play on the 16-18 trucks.

45w on the stock harness?  Generally I see guys who run 55w setups with external relays.  This is getting close to that wattage.  Anyone think the stock wiring will have issues with these new lights?  Or is the general rule 55w and up needs a relay and direct connection to the battery?

I finally installed the DAMA D5S lights I ordered and I have to say that I am quite happy with them.  Could be because they are new, but the light is a nice solid white color.  They are brighter than the Morimoto ones I had in before, but I think something happened to the Morimotos because in the center part of the bulb (trying to describe as best I can) it looks like the little chamber inside is burned.  The output as they are right now compared to the new DAMA's was almost nothing, but I think it's because of this situation with the bulbs.  This cannot be normal, or it it?  The Morimotos were in the truck for 13 months....

Pic 1 is one of the Morimoto light.  Pic 2 is DAMA light on the drivers side, Morimoto on the right during the day.  Pic 3 is both DAMA lights in at night.  It's totally reflecting off the garage door so it looks like it's glaring, but on the road it's nice and solid with decent throw.

I heard back from the site I ordered the Morimoto lights from.  That is not normal and I am getting them replaced under warranty.  I'm glad Morimoto stands behind their product.

Just a different brand of D5S lights.

I apologize for reviving a dead post, but I am very curious as to how the DAMA lights are treating you @cmartinez95? Do they match the DRLs and fogs?  Is the output a lot better?  Any issues out of them yet?  I've been trying to figure out if 5500k or a 6500k would be better before I decide on a purchase.

Thanks in advance!

Thanks for your response @Jchoi!  How is the difference from stock, major difference?  And how about the color, is it whiter than stock?

They’re much closer to fogs. Not exact. Here’s a pic.  Not a great one because I have an old phone.

6500 might be spot on. I might try those next time.  That pic is after they’ve warmed up....more bluish when first on.
