Resonator Delete when having a Flowmaster installed? Please help!

I had no idea they made muffler and back kits ... $200 no bad

i want to find a dual tip (that i like) ... most are only 2.25 or 2.5 inlet though. I just want to add on to the existing piping

Well they do offer that same kit without tips too for a little bit less money. Why not just get a stock OEM tip? I know I'll be getting rid of mine when I decide to pull the trigger for this kit. I know you said you want a dual tip but the OEM is a nice one to just add on

The reason that "cat-back" exhaust systems are $800-$1200 is because they are all stainless steel. These kits are primarily made of "aluminized" steel pipe, which is not as good as stainless and it will rust, but it's the same stuff as you get from the factory. You don't really need all stainless, but the manufacturers tell you that you do so they can get more $$$$ out of you!

Just keep the salt off by taking it through the undercarriage blast carwash every week during the winter months and you'll be fine.

You'll also save a bunch of money.

Cool nice to know i ordered just the muffler from advanceautoparts but i may go the muffler back route with a tip.

Sand is used on the winter roads here in MT so wont have to worry about the salt/rust as quick as others

Well, in order to slow down the corrosion process you still need to do undercarriage blast several times during the winter because dirt and road debris clings to the hot exhaust, but it should last for several years. Stainless of course, is just about indestructable, but pricey.

Super 40 muffler arrived. Looking back at my pics i took of the factory muffler, the 3" inlet looks huge compared to pic of stock piping.

I assume the side with the branding goes face down right, if not then umm?

Plan on getting it on probably next week unless i can get out of work early friday

It doesn't really matter where the name is pointing, mine is down as well. But they are made to fit pretty much anywhere. Bolt her up and hammer down.

I like it so far from the 2 things i can hear .. i was just wondering if after some time would welding the stock back on be an option if i dont like it.

But i honestly wont know if i like it or not anytime. We just git hit with a snow storm that started about 430am and has not stopped snowing yet. It has been just a constant shower of huge flakes literally all day.

The roads are all kinds of slick and people are being idiots playing bumper cars. So yeah no sound test for me. I love how it sounds on start up and pressing the throttle to get going at 5mph [emoji38]

Wish i was back home in GA though to have this done prob would have saved me $100. Shop work totaled 220. Instead of piecing together after the muffler and resonator i agreed to just have new piping for a cleaner look.

Flowmaster Super 40 853046

Liking it so far, very nice deep rumble on startup sounds great. Interior noise isnt bad at all of course i notice a lot more now. The only time I feel that its actually loud is when i slowly accelerate and it hums loud inside. If i just go then it sounds deep but its quick.

When i put my foot on it it also isnt loud inside either but you hear it. I like that it still quiet inside but noticeable.

I havent had a chance to get on the highway yet but cruisin in to v4 mode around 30 and 55mph "drone" is minimal with radio off and dont hear any thing with it on.

Im putting together a video of several clips from inside and outside the cab. Will get it poated this weekend hopefully.

I just had the Flowmaster Super 10 installed this weekend and also had them remove the resonator and tack the flap open, all for $155 at a local shop near me. Sounds a lot better than before and the drone isn't that bad at all. Hardly noticeable when cruising with the radio on, and I don't play my music where it can be heard 5 blocks up the road either. I like it a lot.

I really like my Flowmaster 10, in fact I usually drive with the rear sliding window open, even in cold weather, so I can hear the exhaust.

I have the Super 44.. I would like to hear in person someone with a 10 installed. I had thought about going with the 10 at first, but heard folks saying it was loud... and actually, I don't even think my Super 44 is loud..
