Im sure it is one of the many threads on here, but mind showing me a picture of how you "Clamped the flapper open"?

I agree 100%. I love the sound of a Chevy V8. I've had 5 (progressively louder) mufflers on this truck and I finally got the one that sounds GOOD. Flowmaster Series 10.

Stock muff = Prius

Magnaflow 18 = Impala

Magnaflow 14 = A little better

Flowmaster 44 = Quite a bit better

Flowmaster 10 = FINALLY

It will never be as loud as my Vette, but I like it LOUD.:thumbs::thumbs:

(My wife calls me "The 60 year old teenager)... ... ...:crackup::crackup:

How did you run your exhaust? Cause mine SI/SO 3" pipe all the way with no resonator and flapper is still pretty quiet. Very very minimal drone and would like a little more sound. I had my pipe ran just like the 6.0 on the 2500.

Does anyone know the size of OEM pipes. I want to have as little work possible for the shop to put in new muffler.

By this me 2.25, 2.5, or 3 .. its too cold here to lay down on an ice street and measure

Got it done yesterday. Much much better I just wish it were a little louder.

The clamp of the flapper is what made the big difference. It makes it much louder.

Im probably getting flowmaster 40 series or super 40 series i have no idea whoch ones ive been listening to as some people just say 40 series.

Looking on their site i dont see anything 2.75 though so would i buy 2.5" and have them weld to make it fit or buy bigger at 3"?

Also are our truck center in center out?

I didn't buy a Flowmaster but I bought my Carven at 3". I was told in this forum that it's better to go bigger with the 3" then going to small with the 2.5". Hope that helps you.

No flapper, no Rez, Flowmaster 10, 3" over axle and discharge in stock location behind RR wheel. I also hollowed out the third cat. My friend has a lift. Disconnected the pipe, pulled it out of the way, then drilled about 50 holes in the Catalyst with a concrete bit. Banged on it with a hammer and chisel. (safety glasses) Big chunks fell out.

Thanks our set ups are the same minus the cat. Maybe that'll bring me some volume.

I would have just had the remove everything from the muffler back and bend up a new tail pipe.

Can post a video on how it sounds? Just curious because I'm looking for a good exhaust for my 2015 V6 Sierra.
