Coilover + uca vs coilover lift

Not true.

OEM spec coil overs have internal limiters to match down travel to arm limits. This is also what makes the difference with extended travel versions of OEM replacements, they have smaller spacers allowing full travel of uniball style arms that allow more travel than balljoints.

Yes but they aren't designed to handle that kind of punishment.

Quote from Fox regarding their coilovers

"FOX shocks are designed only to dampen the travel of the vehicle in compression and rebound. They are not intended to handle severe top-out or bottom-out forces. Be sure to use correct bottom out stops and limiting straps in severe applications."

I would speculate that the OEM are much less robust than Fox and even more prone to being damaged

With a OEM width arms, proper length coils your uniball or balljoints will be the limiting factor of down travel with the stops removed. (OR CV axle)

Only way to be sure is to cycle the suspension, it takes way more then a rough road to fully max out your suspension to the point of failure.

My last rig was a "bumped and strapped" long travel build.

Is modification required for the cognitive UCAs with any setup?

Ie: 5100s bilsteins and 0.5" spacers. Assume second highest or highest bilsteins settings 1.25/1.85"

I don't wanna do any cutting on my truck for warranty reasons and resale obviously.

You'll have to cut the small tab on the coil bucket or the UCA will crash into it like shown in the pictures at the beginning of the thread

If I remember correctly, that only needed to be cut if you are running the Fox 2.0. Mine were not cut and it has been fine.

Are instructions supplied with cognitos showing exactly what to remove? Also anyone have pics with limiting straps and where they are installed?

How major of a difference is there between Fox 2.5's and King 2.5's? Price is pretty close between them.

Basically the same, choose your favorite...depending on your region some handle corrosion better

Icon is where the big change in valving is, digressive.

Well I'll just see where I can find a better price then. So far gotten $1409 shipped for the King's and $519 for the Cognito's. Waiting on a response from MRT on the Fox's.

I was reading on one of the Toyota forums where they said Fox has a 16 week or four month lead time due a big order from the military, so would would check lead times on the shocks. Also I've been waiting since January the 9th on my Icon shocks I order through MRT and there is no updates to the shipping label that was created on January the 23. So check lead times and may be best to call the manufacturer directly to get accurate lead times.

So Icon told me they are running 4-5 weeks before shocks are evening getting out on the schedule to be built. King says they have a two week lead before shocks are built. Fox wouldn't tell me their lead times. They just said contact a vender and see if they have what you are looking for in stock.
