New member, heart broken by old lady

Hello

I'm a new member to this forum and I would like to get some advises regarding to damaged front bumper, fender and headlight.

2016 Silverado high country, only 4 month old and my heart is broken.

Old lady (dodge journey) hit me on a front passengers side and bumper, fender, front grill and headlight got damaged.

I'm taking the truck to shop on Monday and I would like to know if there is anything that I need to mention to bodyshop tech.

For example, headlight plastic cover got damaged, it still works but do I need to replace the whole headlight set include the bulb?

The parking sensors still works but I concern what if it fails later on...

These mechanical issues that doesn't show right away but what if it cause problems later on.

I WAS in love with this truck until the accident. Now feeling is not same as before. I used to drive Ridgeline then traded it last September because I fell in love with Silverado front end.

Your opinion/advise is highly appreciated.

Sorry to hear about the accident, but with the right shop you'll be good as new in no time. Request OEM parts if things are being replaced, and make sure you are 100% satisfied before signing off on the completed repairs. After a few days without it, you'll fall right back in love when you see that she is as good as new.

Use a third party site like Photobucket and once uploaded there link to the photo on that site.

Talk to insurance company about diminished value. Now that your new truck has been in an accident the accident will show up on a CarFax report.

I'm from Vancouver, Canada and I assume that ICBC (insurance company) doesn't deal with diminished value, I think.

I will try to use 3rd party site and link it.

Depending on how much damage the insurance claims, definitely ask for diminished value compensation. Look for a reputable body shop and check out a couple shops before you pick one. You can ask for OEM parts, but that will be up to the insurance company if they will pay for those parts; especially if the old ladies insurance cimpany is paying.

It sounds pretty minor. Just make sure and take it to a reputable shop and they'll have it like brand new again. As fast as the headlights, they'll have to be replaced because you cannot buy the trim separate.

I would personally ask the shop to save that light for you since they'll just trash it. You can sell it for parts or for someone wanting a project. You could easily get $100 for it. Consider it some wine and dine money for a night.

I just talk to insurance company and they told me that they don't do diminished value. That's how ICBC works. Also they inform me that less than $2000 damage won't show on the record but mine is surely go over $2000.

Uploading photos here is MUCH easier using the Tapatalk app than on the computer (if that's an option).

Click the pictures button and add the photo you want.

If you use Apple, you can just email the photos to yourself and make sure they're under 1MB when sent, then re-save the photos and upload here.

Don't worry it will be fine. Just make sure you look it over real good in natural light. I had something similar happen to me with only 3000 miles on my new truck. Had to have my passenger side door repainted. After a couple of months I forgot all about it.
