Is it true that if you take your traction control off when driving on the highway on bare road conditions you get better mpg? I am certain I read that on this forum once.

Though I can't believe that is true. Traction control is a passive system, which should not be doing anything unless its needed.

I could be wrong, but my understanding is that TC is really only used from a stop to help get going without losing traction. So I don't think it's active while moving. Then there's stabilitrak which is to help keep the truck between the lines if you go too fast around a curve, but it may help if you just lose a lot of traction like in on snow or ice.

No. Will not change a thing. They are along for the ride monitoring only in the event of traction loss, sharp/evasive maneuvers, etc. (winter acceleration, hard acceleration in wet conditions, etc.).

Not true, but you can darn sure accelerate faster with it off.
