Rawyzf Posted January 24, 2017 Posted January 24, 2017 Let me start with saying that I have no idea if Recoiling is the right word to use here My issue, the seat belt in the rear passenger side does not recoil very well after unbuckling my son, I almost have to feed/guide it back into the hole for it to wrap/roll back up. Any one else have this issue? Additionally, anyone know if this would be covered under warranty? I'm at 32K, and probably should hit the dealership one more time before 36k. Thanks!
cpttimerestraint Posted January 24, 2017 Posted January 24, 2017 My driver's seat belt is doing the same thing. I have 33k miles on my truck do I also need to get it into the dealer. Sent from my SM-G900V using Tapatalk

Sent from my SM-G900V using Tapatalk Thanks for the post. My drivers is a little weak, but not near as bad as the rear. Hopefully someone will post if they have had this addressed at the dealership under warranty. I would think it would be covered, as it's a safety item. I guess I could always call, but I'm betting they'll just say bring it in and we'll look at it.
Rawyzf Posted January 24, 2017 Author Posted January 24, 2017 Try this. I'll do this if the dealership won't do anything, I appreciate the link. Sent from my SM-G930V using Tapatalk
Rawyzf Posted January 24, 2017 Author Posted January 24, 2017 Here is what it looks like every time my son gets out on his own and I don't feed it back up. Sent from my SM-G930V using Tapatalk
cpttimerestraint Posted February 3, 2017 Posted February 3, 2017 My dealer cleaned and lubed the mechanism and it is working much better. Sent from my SM-G900V using Tapatalk
FlyGuy Posted February 4, 2017 Posted February 4, 2017 I would think GM would be more than happy to fix that - no charge - no matter mileage/age. Safety related items take precedence.. IIHS might have an interest if it's occurring more than just random or isolated event. Esp on front seat, as that would mess with pre-tensioners and airbag safety too.
WhiteMike Posted April 20, 2017 Posted April 20, 2017 I know my rear passenger seat does the same thing! Very frustrating when dealing with car seats. Next time I go in for oil change I may bring this to their attention.

My understanding is they HAVE to fix it, being a seat belt. If I remember correctly, restraints have a longer warranty. Then again, with my mind, I'm surprised I remember to wake up some mornings...
SilveradoSaver Posted April 21, 2017 Posted April 21, 2017 Try this. That looks like a good idea! Even if it works fine, it's gross what ended up in that bucket. Only thing I'd probably do on top of this is once it has soaked in the soap for 10-15 minutes, I'd soak it in a bucket of clean water to get the soap off. You don't wash your clothes in soap and take them out right away; it goes through a rinse cycle... This should be the same. Great video though!
cbrsilv15 Posted April 22, 2017 Posted April 22, 2017 Mine does the same damn thing for my son in the backseat. Very annoying.

I'm gonna drop the truck off next week hopefully and ask them to look at this and then have them fix a rattle in the dash, by the speedo. I'll report back. Sent from my SM-G930V using Tapatalk
