Popping Plastic sound

Do a search - there are other threads about this. Just about every GM truck does it.

My dealer fixed mine by putting some felt tape over the clips that hold the trim around the radio in place.

There's a thread on here agreeing this issue. I don't remember all the details but one guy disassembled his dash trim in the area of the radio and put tape or foam between all the pieces to get his to quite down. I was going to do mine also but just have not done it yet.

That was me, although I can't find my how-to thread for the life of me. The pictures I took are at http://www.gm-trucks.com/forums/gallery/album/3731-center-lcd-removal/. You can see in the pictures where I applied tape to resolve the issue.

I carry a bottle of water with me all the time and just figured that was the noise but now I guess I'll have to take it out for a while to see if I actually have another "Chevy Quirk" I need to take care of!

I haven't heard the noise since I took the water bottle out so hopefully that's all it was in my case. Other than a couple of minor trim panel squeaks I will fix with some felt or weatherstripping when I install the audio system this truck is actually pretty quiet inside.
