Popping Plastic sound

My 17 has a annoying "POP" sound every hour or so, i have a older tv in my house that does the same thing. Its a plastic sound just like the tv, it does it as the truck heats or cools in the interior. Comes from i think the radio cluster like something is in a bind and builds resistance then shifts making the noise anybody have this or have a fix?

my 2015 does this. sounds like a small rock hitting the windshield. Coming from the radio cluster as well. If i pull down slightly on a knob it will happen sometimes.

Its just the plastic bezel and radio trim going thru thermal expansion and contraction. Eventually you will learn to live with it.

My 15 does it also sounds like a rock hitting the windshield, pretty much inaudible while driving though.

My '14 does it, my friends '15 does it, and two co-workers have '16's that do it. You'll swear that there are empty plastic water bottles somewhere in your cab at times. Another no option extra GM throws in.

Yep, I always assumed it was the windshield popping from the temperature change. Mine doesn't happen every hour. Just once about 5-10 minutes after I start it up and temperatures start to adjust.

My 2015 and 2014 both did this....the 2015 still does it. Sounds like a water bottle popping once.....a normal noise of the truck and plastic creeping around.

There's a thread on here agreeing this issue. I don't remember all the details but one guy disassembled his dash trim in the area of the radio and put tape or foam between all the pieces to get his to quite down. I was going to do mine also but just have not done it yet.

My 2015 did it and my current 2017 does it, very annoying.

 

It's probably a simple fix if gm would update their installation design; maybe some padding or different clips.

I carry a bottle of water with me all the time and just figured that was the noise but now I guess I'll have to take it out for a while to see if I actually have another "Chevy Quirk" I need to take care of!

I know where the noise comes from but

if anyone knows what exactly is causing the popping sound and how to fix it please let us know. Has anyone tried to get the dealer to fix it; I know that's a waist of time but just curious if anyone has brought it to their attention.

mine doesnt, but my buddy's 16 chevy lt does... ..heard it the other day.. sounds like an acorn is stuck up there or something ..or a little rock hitting the windshield...

Mine does it! reminds me of the Citation in -15 degree weather.....Lot's of popping goin on!
