WT or LTZ hmmm

I am about to buy a 2015 Silverado this weekend. The build sheet states it is a WT but when checking for open recalls using the VIN number the GM website says LTZ model. I think it is a base model but not sure.

regardless of the GM website, make sure you negotiate using the build sheet and WT price.

if the dealer made a mistake in labeling, its their problem.

it shouldn't really be hard to tell. Are the floors vinyl? is there any chrome on the exterior besides the bumpers?

I think for sure it is a WT just weird that the GM website has it as a LTZ. The dealership calls it a WT also.

If the front of the bumper has any plastic whatsoever, like, the "highest trim" WT is the 2WT and it still has plastic on the front end, just a lot less. The only plastic would be the upper bumper cover, separating the chrome bumper from the grill/headlights. Also, I could be wrong, but I believe leather seats is standard in the LTZ.

So if you're only worried about the difference between LTZ/WT, the difference should be fairly easy to notice from first sight. Leather seats/cloth seats. Plastic bumper piece(s), chrome/color matched pieces. Black plastic door handles, chrome/color matched door handles.

My 2WT has black carpet :driving:

If I could learn how to attach the build sheet I would. Yes it is vinyl floor cloth front seat vinyl rearseat.

And you looked closely at the VINs on the build sheet compared to the VIN provided by the dealer? The build sheet is clearly showing it as a WT. If you are still unsure before getting there, just have a "purchase price" in mind for both an LTZ and WT. When you get there and have a visual confirmation of which one it is, then you know which purchase price to negotiate towards.

If you are still unsure or if the dealer is trying to talk you into the fact that it's an LTZ with a lot of aftermarket equipment or something, just check the RPO code sheet in the glove box. It should be identical to the codes on the build sheet.

@ Big, No everything is cool with the Dealer and price and all. I just thought it was weird when I copied the VIN from the dealer website and put it in the the GM website that GM was calling it a LTZ. The dealer is not calling it a LTZ or even representing that it is.

Won't this affect auto insurance? They insure based on the VIN. If the VIN is pulling up a more expensive model....

Lets hope not but that is a very good question.

LTZ also have the premium DL3 Mirrors. Look for the Turn Signals in the mirror.

I don't envy you having to have that conversation with them. Good luck.
