2015 6.2L with top end issues

Other morning I got off nightshift to head home and walking up to truck it appeared to be ticking very loudly(remote start as it was -40C)

Tick varied with rpm and engine seemed a little low on power.

Drove home and waited for dealership to open...8km trip.

Got it there, fired up for service manager and instantly said kill it and you can't drive it.

Something in top end had let loose.....they had apparently had another 6.2L come in a couple weeks prior with exact same issue.

They started at it right away and found #6 cyl pushrod...bent like a banana.(intake side)

Among other things.

On the other 6.2L it was #4....on same side.

The WO stated something about spring for afm lifter being damaged as well.

Replaced lifters and pushrod etc

Got it back late yesterday so I will take it for a good run today.

Wether anything else got damaged....they said no....time will tell.

Starting to seriously question my decision to buy a Chev....my highway vibes,wacky8 speed (which its going in to get checked shortly and possibly do clutch pack relearn) and now this...

The good news is they took care of it! That's what the warranty is for. If it makes you feel any better, I have 63,000 miles on my 6.2L and the only issue that I've had has been the tranny and it was replaced around 20k.

Not sure what is going on with these engines man...We've had 3 trucks with a bent pushrod within the last 12 months or so. Two of them were 5.3, and one was a 6.2, and I think one might have had the issue on a non AFM cylinder. Honestly, I wonder if this 0w20 oil is causing the aeration issues GM is seeing, which causes an AFM lifter to booger up, and bam goes the rod.

Well yesterday my 6.2L started ticking badly again...

To the dealer again....

Again it appears something is damaged in top end.

It sounds like it's coming from passenger side again but truck isnt getting tore apart till Monday.

We will see

This is most definitely getting old.

3 Days in shop

Still not repaired

Lifter failure on same side as those replaced less than 2 months ago

Either they messed up or there is something internally wrong they are not finding or saying...

With other issues I'm having this truck is on it's way out....F...k it

That really blows. Definitely understand your frustration. Keep us updated. Hopefully they will fix it once and for all this time.

My brother and Dad both have 6.2's, a 14 and a 15 and both have had the same issue.

What was the fix? Did it happen again? What mileage?

Brother's truck was in the fall at about 30k miles and my dads was this winter (the 14 Denali) and about 35k miles. Both are running as normal now. I will talk to both tomorrow and see what the paperwork says.

Wow. That's crazy it happened to both trucks in the family. Hopefully it's not a trend on ecotec engines.

Got truck back.

All lifters replaced,bent push rods...etc

Probable cause was lifter oil manifold issue(manifold replaced as well)

On another note they admit tranny is messed up but until a codes thrown nothing can be done.

F...k it I'm done with this POS....hopefully by late Friday I can close the book on this junk.

I'll take the hit and be done with it

You don't always get killed trading, especially when the vehicle is in demand with low miles........just saying
