revrnd Posted May 12, 2017 Posted May 12, 2017 These bumpers look extremely heavy duty but I would question how well the frame would hold up in a collision with five cows. At 2000lbs each they should practically stop the truck dead. The engine may not be damaged but wouldn't the frame be twisted so that an accurate alignment would be next to impossible to acheive? The truck certianly never be the same. They do look awesome though! I know what you're thinking, but I'm pretty sure the front portion of the frame in designed nowadays to be part of the 'crumple zone' unfortunately.
kstruckcountry Posted May 12, 2017 Posted May 12, 2017 2000 pounds??? Don't think so. Sent from my SM-G920V using Tapatalk
4x4Pete Posted May 12, 2017 Posted May 12, 2017 2000 pounds??? Don't think so. Sent from my SM-G920V using Tapatalk I don't know the weight of a cow but I figure it is pretty heavy. Even if it were to be 600-1000 lbs the damage would be pretty severe in a head on collision at 30mph. Place five in front of you and I doubt the cows or truck would survive and you wouldn't be feeling too good either, giant bumper or not.

kstruckcountry Posted May 12, 2017 Posted May 12, 2017 Yep. Would definitely trash the vehicle at either size! Sent from my SM-G920V using Tapatalk
MotionMan Posted May 17, 2017 Posted May 17, 2017 I cut mine down 2 inches. Made it look 100% better.
Big Whiskey Posted May 18, 2017 Posted May 18, 2017 I cut mine down 2 inches. Made it look 100% better. Nice improvement! What did you use to make the cut?
MotionMan Posted May 20, 2017 Posted May 20, 2017 I used an angle grinder, no special blade, just took small cuts. It melts the plastic a bit but when it cools it comes right off. I just cut at the molded contour free hand, it needs to be cleaned up but I am really picky, no one could notice. I kept the angle end in tact to keep it strong, that's the end by the tire. The side view is better now, it just hung too low before.
shortnugly Posted June 8, 2017 Posted June 8, 2017 I monitored my temps transmission and water for months during summer and winter before pulling mine and putting my winch bumper on. Did not make a bit of difference towing or not even on hottest days.IMG_0473 -1.jpg Great bumper, What brand is it? could you post a couple more pics? Still relevant to this thread ....... kinda ...... sorta ....... awww hell, it just looks good
shortnugly Posted June 9, 2017 Posted June 9, 2017 no mo dam (the bugs should reduce air flow under the truck)
dasimmon Posted June 9, 2017 Posted June 9, 2017 no mo dam (the bugs should reduce air flow under the truck) beautiful truck, love them without the dam
8lugCT Posted June 16, 2017 Posted June 16, 2017 Trimmed mine this past weekend... 100% better Might even trim more..
MotionMan Posted June 16, 2017 Posted June 16, 2017 I took some time the other day and cleaned the cut on my front valance. Every time I walk up to my truck from the front I notice how much better it looks now. Now it is perfectly straight. All my darn pics are upside down. I'll have to take a better one.
8lugCT Posted June 17, 2017 Posted June 17, 2017 I think it looks better trimmed, rather than removed
