Front bumper air dam

Me too, on the GMC the bumper contours up at the ends so it would look odd. It would be easier to cut if off so you can always try and if you like it then your done. If not off with its head I would have taken mine off but there are about 30 bolts in those weak clips so I just cut at the molded contour.

If you look close @ the J nut locations, I can't see anyone wanting to remove the air dam & then re-installing it.

The Chevy's are different from the GMC's. The lower air damn is a separate piece on the GMC.

I was @ MIS this weekend for the races & spotted 2 Chevs in the campground that had BOSS plows & the air dam insert. Funny I had never noticed them before. It seemed that folks just took a Sawzall to the air dam.

so i need a plow for my chevy 2500hd. reading this thread is tough because none of the pics are available any more, stupid photobucket! does the boss plate work on a silverado as well? is boss the way to go?

The big thing with my air dam is function, Everytime I go over a parking lot bump or mild off-road I feel like the things going to scrape. But I think it's designed so close to the wheels that the low edges rise easily with the wheels ..be alot nicer if it was easy to remove, there's ground clearance for days behind that thing

Just remove it and be done with it, I have never owned a truck with one, I think they look stupid.

The Chevy ones make up a good 50% of the front bumper..not like the gmc ones at all...would look even dumber with a giant gap under the chrome.

I have a Boss VTX works great. When considering a plow also consider dealer support. Boss has very good customer service.

The clowns that style the trucks make the air dam an integral part of the bumper design. Too bad some of them wouldn't get out in the real world.

Either Fisher or Boss here in Maine. Not sure I have seen a Western in person.
