Fuel Range graphic

Hello all. I'm a new member here and a new 2017 Chevy Silverado 1500 owner. My question is concerning the fuel range section in the DIC. I was wondering if the gas tank graphic is supposed to be an acurrate representation of the amount of fuel left. When I bought the truck it had a full tank of gas ans and showed as such. I drove it until about an 1/8 of a tank but the graphic never dropped below half a tank. When I filled the tank, the mileage remaining changed but the gas tank graphic showing 1/2 never did. Am I missing something? Thanks in advance.

What model is your truck? Mine does not have a level indicator in the DIC, just a "miles till empty" reading.

I've never trusted any "calculators" in any brand vehicle, or any year model - they're historically always wrong.

You're talking about the bar under the pump, correct? Pretty sure mine was also showing full, and then went to what it is showing in this picture. Now it never goes to full. Not sure what's up. But it sounds like you're getting the same thing.

Yes, that's exactly what I'm talking about. I could swear that graphic showed a full tank when I bought it. And then it dropped steadily as I drove it, and stopped exactly where yours is. I've since filled it but that graphic hasn't changed. I found a video on YouTube where a guy explains all the features of the DIC and though he didn't have much to say about the fuel range page, I noticed that his analog gauge read about 1/4 of a tank while that graphic was sitting exactly where yours and mine is. I mean I guess it's no big deal as the analog gauge works and the "mileage left til empty" seems to be accurate enough. I'm just wondering what the deal is with that graphic.
