2016 Windshield Wipers - Is this normal

Minor annoyance, but still annoying. When i hit the wiper fluid to clean off salt/crud, my wiper only swipes once. Just enough to smear the salt/crud all over the place and make it hard to see. I can correct this by holding the switch forward for two or three swipes of the wipers but a little annoying and uses a lot more fluid. I don't remember any other vehicles I have owned doing this single swipe - is it normal?

Yes. You have to hold the washer toggle for a couple seconds and then it will wipe more than one pass. 2014+up do this.

For many year people complained about the "last word" windshield wipers. They always had the last word with an extra wipe when you did not need it. Now it is fixed.

Thanks for the replies. Guess it is time to upgrade the wipers so that the single swipe does something.

On my 2016 Sierra 1500, If I just tap my washer tab then I get one wipe, without washer fluid. If I hold down the tab long enough to get the spray, then I get 3 wipes.

I love this feature. Sometimes you just need the single swipe to do a quick clean.

Ford calls this a "courtesy wipe" which to me sounds like something one of those fancy Japanese toilets can do for you.
