gmdog2 Posted March 5, 2017 Posted March 5, 2017 Here's some more pics and what I did on the LED part of the cup-holders. I wired into the purple and green stripped wire in the BCM, this allows the lights to come on at dusk and of at dawn(low/bright light ) and it allows the LEDS throughout the cab of my truck to be controlled by the dimmer switch for the dash lights. The Black wire is being being pushed in next to the purple w/green stripe for power. I don't like to cut into OEM wiring if at all possible. I just used one 6 mil about middle way up as we always have beverages in the cup holders and it can get a little wet in there..Any questions, send me a PM.
BowHunter1 Posted March 21, 2017 Author Posted March 21, 2017 Thanks to gmdogs help I was able to tap the same wire that is for the light sensor so my cup lights only come on with the dash lights! Works like a charm....sorry for the bad cell pics The color is blue to match the truck...looks more purple in the picture though Sent from my SCH-I545 using Tapatalk
pgamboa Posted March 21, 2017 Posted March 21, 2017 For anyone curious on the actual circuit tap for this mod, this is using Circuit # 7558 - LED Ambient Lighting Control 2. Pin # 21 on the X5 Connector in the X61A Junction Box (Violet Wire/LT-Green Stripe like in the photo). If you search the Upfitter manual for the circuit #, you'll fine several places where you can tap this signal. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
paumat Posted June 9, 2017 Posted June 9, 2017 Where can one find the upfitter manual? Where can one find the upfitter manual? http://www.gm-trucks.com/forums/topic/178873-2016-upfitter-manuals-online/
Jdkno Posted June 9, 2017 Posted June 9, 2017 Got it, thanks for the link. Might be a stupid question but is there a diagram showing the locations of all the different junction points or is it pretty much tap at the BCM since we know where it is?

Do a search in the up fitter manual for "7558". This is the circuit # and will show you all the places where it can be found and tapped.
