Interior LED wiring help needed please

Need some help finding the correct power wire to use under the center console that only comes on when the truck is running for LED cup holder lights? I've tried the 12v plugs and USB plugs and they have constant power or at least enough to still power the 6mm led bulb even after the truck is off and all the interior lights have faded. I have footwell strips front and back that work with the dome lights but for the cup holder lights I want them on all the time when the truck is on if that makes since. Any help would greatly be appreciated

Are you wanting an ACC Voltage circuit? You want to be able to be able to switch it on/off? Only come on at night?

On at night would be ideal however id be happy if they were on when the truck key is on. When I wired them to the cigarette lighter or USB ports in the front of the console they were still drawing power even after the truck was off and all the interior lights went out which I thought was weird? I should be able to find a power source that stays on but only when the truck is on, hope this makes sense

And I like to not have to install a separate switch just for them if possible

Understood. The cigarette lighter and USB ports that are hot all the time is a configurable option (if I recall). There is a Fuse that can be moved so they are not hot all the time and will turn off after a specific amount of time. Similar to RAP (Retained Accessory Power). I believe you can tie them to Run/Crank Voltage, ACC Voltage, or RAP. Let me look into that tomorrow to see if there is one of these circuits are present in the center console wiring.

Here is a thread I found about the configurable fuse option. This may/may not help.

I'll look at other options tomorrow...

Left of brake pedal. Pull of the bcm plug box cover should be an open plug bank , tap the third on left. I had to solder on due to not being able to find a connector small enough fit.

Gmdog's mod would be ideal! Could you please be a little more specific on where tapped into? I see the pictures I take it the black wire running down from the bcm block is the wire you tapped? Thanks again everyone for chiming in with ideas! If I can't figure Gmdogs way I may move the 50amp fuse to kill full time power to the 12v cig lighter and tap there
