Hey, need some input from the great folks here. My situation is that I will be spending more time city driving. which is a PITA. Plus, my wife won't drive the truck. I was thinking about trading my truck for a SS manual, that she could drive.

Thoughts?

SS are sweet, but not exactly a small city car either :). That's a lot of horses to keep under control in the city.

So a 20K hit in the trade in on top of a 50K car. What the hell life is short.

thanks for weighing in so fast guys...

the absolute only way i would do it is no money anything, just trade keys and walk out. Don't get me wrong, the truck is super handy, especially for towing stinky kids after football and lacrosse...just thinking about practicality.

I've had every body style impala or ss since 1964. The last 94 kept that one 10 years 17 total a real impala nut. It bugs the hell out of me they made such a low number and they stay at sticker or above. Saying that their still a good value for the performance. Just a little more you can get a hellcat. Hmmm.

Driving a clutch in heavy city traffic will make you miss the auto transmission in your truck fast.

We have Lacrosse in Seattle? Would not want to drive a stick on Seattle roads. Your truck is so car like - just keep it. But if you do trade so soon - there will be a big advantage in our 10% sales tax. Heck we just paid 10.1% sales tax on a car in Lynnwood. Also the RTA tax just tripled.......

Honestly keep the truck and lease the SS. Bet you get tired of the manual in traffic. (I know, I had an Avalanche and a Camaro ZL1 with a manual). Drove the truck more because it was easier around town to and from work. Took the Camaro for fun trips/weekend jaunts and longer excursions. They both have their place.

hey Krusty, can you post a pic of your Dart wagon...the musclecar geek in me is dying... :)

The '62 Dart wagon story - Bought by my grand parents in 1969. My little bro held onto it after they passed in the early '90's - in 2011 he says come get it - I will never do anything with it.

Everyone gets a kick out of it - even high school kids. Older peeps remember riding in the back of wagons. Had an ol skool machine shop rebuild the 318 Poly engine and replaced all front and rear suspension parts. A kick to work on and drive, being my first Mopar really. Won first place best unfinished at the 2013 all Mopar show in Graham pictured.......

Super I would stick with what you have. Driving a manual in the city will get old real quick. Don't think they will let you walk so easily from the lease without forking out cash. That said they do offer big discounts on the SS so that may offset. If you purchase the SS get an auto helps alot when trading/selling.
