installing new ecm

Has anyone replaced the ecm on these 2014+ trucks? Is it just plug and play? I ordering one online from gm parts direct and installing myself

No you have to go get it coded. It doesn't just work out of the box. You need to take it to a dealer.

Oh and if you're trying to hide the fact it has a tune on it, that doesn't work like the 13s and older did. It the flash gets stored on other modules as well, so swapping out the ECM doesn't hide it.

Na I don't care about that I've already been to the dealership to try and get my ecm flashed becaause the tuner broke and the tune is stuck on my truck. And they weren't able to reflash the ecm back to stock and was told to get a new ecm. It's $300 and I figured I could do it myself but I guess not.

I do have my stock ecm and tcm files but can't do anything with them. The reason I'm doing this is because I'm putting a blower on my truck and I was told it needed to have the tune removed in order to tune for the blower. But I've heard of people tuning over diablo tune before but I'm surprised the dealer couldn't do it, or the just don't know how.

What kind of tuner do you have? If you have an intune or i1000 just call diablo and they can get you back to stock with these devices no problem. If you have the trinity then no you will have to get it flashed at the dealer or buy a new i2030 and get it back to stock that way if of course it was tune with a diablo product to start. But reading your post you were diablo tuned so just buy a new i2030 just as cheap as new Ecm and call diablo and they will get you back to stock. Maybe even find a nice used one problems fixed no dealer needed.

I had my intune rest and then put my stock ecm and tcm files back on but it still didn't work. It's like the tuner doesn't see the ecm because the intune locked it when it threw the error is the only thing I can come up with. And trying to get ahold of diablo for help is pretty hard when I call I was on hold for 30 min today. If I can get away with just swapping my ecm and not have to swap the tcm I will be fine with that. But I'm not sure what all they would do to the tcm when tuning for the supercharger. And I have already been to the dealer to have it reflashed but they said there tool wouldn't them do it. Now I don't know if it's because they don't know what they were doing or if they couldn't see it because it was locked?

No you have to get a hold of Diablo they will get you back to stock I guarantee it. I am speaking from experience. You have the intune so they will fix the problem for you and get you back to stock. Contact [email protected] she was awesome help for me getting me back stock after my trinity burned up so I bought a new intune and it was cake. Down load a few files from the tool as she requested tool like 3 days and they send you back a file to load to the intune and that's it she is back to stock and start programming b away again.

I second contacting them had this happen on my 2011 ram 1500 hemi. When I first tuned it with my inune I2 it locked my ecm so truck was a paper weight. They got my truck fixed in a day or so via email no issues unless it was user done, if that doesn't work you may have to send the intune and ecm in to have them fix it. That takes some time and they over night it there and back.
