Leak or Animal Pee?

New truck (2015) with 8K on it. My truck was backed up to the right side garage door during the snowstorm here yesterday so I could get my tractor out and I found 2 greenish drippings in the snow underneath after I moved the truck.

let me be the first to ask, are people drinking green beer already? I do not think that there are any green fluids in these new trucks. lets go with animal.

Nope, the green liquid that forms and drips from the exhaust is caused by a chemical reaction with road salt.

 

Galvanized steel uses zinc as a rust inhibitor.

Zinc, when hot and in the presence of iron and a catalyst, creates yellow zinc oxide in the form of crystals. The connection is the catalyst - salt water - or compacted snow with road salt mixed in. If the snow is able to touch the exhaust heat shields and the exhaust pipes at the same time, the chemical reaction between the two dissimilar metals creates the bright yellow greenish crystals. Almost like a fluorescent green in colour making people thing they are leaking coolant, but GM coolant is fluorescent orange.
