Cargo light on while vehicle in motion

Anybody know of a way to achieve this? I thought I could use a diode or something similar to the fog light mod but after thinking about it I don't think that will work. I know that the switch stays lit while in drive but the lamp won't come on unless your in park. I use it from time to time to light up the bed to check on stuff I'm hauling from the rear view mirror and I can't do that any longer.

Most locales it's illegal for a vehicle to emit white light from the rear while in forward motion. If the popo see you it's a citation at least. Make sure your cargo is properly secured before you leave.

The BCM knows what gear you are in and inhibits the light from working. Unless you can find a way to bypass that somehow, you'd have to do the drive, neutral back to drive method.

I am not going to be using it when other cars are around. Its for when I am on a back road and want to check the load.

I would follow earlier suggestions and not try to defeat this safety feature, You may always remember to turn off the back lights while driving but other drivers or subsequent owners may not be as careful. My own experience also suggests that checking your load by rear-view mirror usually indicates a problem when it is too late! I would carry a flashlight and walk around my vehicle periodically if carrying loads in the dark
