Led vs hid in low beam projectors

Recently bought and installed ddm tuning saber 40w led headlights not impressed whatsoever they might be worse than the stocks. Do leds not work well with projector housings?

Money is no object and nothing a little bondo can't fix. LOL

I think the problem is the 40 watt led's.

I installed 65 watt leds in my daughters 2013, and they are very bright.

In my 2015 Denali, I went with HID's as I like the light output of the HIDs better.

So are the stock HID in the 2017 GMC 1500 pretty good or are they still dangerously dim like I have read about orevious model years? I want LED, but I found a 2017 deal with HID.

Previous years were halogen, not HID. That was the issue.

 

The 2017 with hids will still be leaps and bounds brighter.

I got a xenon Depot led bulbs in my 2015 silverado 1500 reflector headlights. Probably not as bright as HID, but definitely better than stock.
