I have a 2004 gmc sierra with a 5.3 vortec engine I've added a flowmaster muffler and also a volant cold air intake with the volant throttle body spacer I've noticed the stock spark plugs don't seem to be holding up to good on burning the fuel I thought about switching to the e3 spark plugs anyone have a set up similar an what do you recommend for a better plug?

What's your opinion on running the e3's in the gmc some people have told me that the gmc's only care for stock but I've heard good things about them so figured I'd get some opinions on this matter

E3 are crap. NGK or AC Delco. What plug and number are you currently running. Your TB spacer also gains you nothing

E3 are horrible. I've ran both NGK and Ac Delco. Use NGK TR5iX Now

For my '01 5.3, the NGK iridiums didn't hold up as well as the stock AC Delco platinums. The engine was running fine at 100k miles with the AC Delco plugs. Put in the NGKs, and after 80k miles she was starting to have a rough idle. REplaced them and the electrodes were eroded pretty heavily. Not impressed.

04 came with Iridium plugs from the factory. AC Delco Iridium plugs went south after about 50,000

looks like a good opportunity to try out a set of the Pulstar PlasmaCore - PlasmaCore Pulse Spark plugs. I always wanted to try these but never had the spare cash to buy them but since this is OPM (Other Peoples Money) heck Yes lets do it.

here is a pic of a plug out of my 2009 5.3 with approx 75,000 miles. She was a aluminum block oil burning bich!

Txab I'm running stock plugs not sure of the number but I've noticed a rough idle truck has about 187,000 miles still running an looking good but the throttle body spacer was bought as a gift from the wife

I wouldn't run these so called long life plugs past 70,000 miles anyway. Yes many do and have no problem, but luck will run out, sooner or later. AC Delco.

A little while back i was getting a misfire code, had rough idle, and what felt like a torque converter issue...

I pulled the plugs, and there were E3 plugs put in by the previous owner. Put acdelco plugs in there place and haven't had an issue since!

What's the fuel pressure in psi? Anything unusual happen when you stab the gas WOT?
