The Truth About Towing?

Remember that there are a lot of women out there that can back up a trailer as well. I could back up my old TT trailer on a dime and give you change back. I am still on the learning curve for my 5th wheel. But I am getting there.

We were at Pacific Beach state park Wa and the older gal next to us needed to dump the holding tanks so she just drove off. When she came back she just swung around and backed on to the leveling blocks in one pass! Her daughter said "yea, she's done this before!"

My TT is 31' 11'' so being that long the Mrs hops out with a walkie talkie and helps (LOL helps is a very liberal term here) I always tell her, tell me if I need to go to the passenger side or the driver side. And push the button in the walkie talkie then talk.

What do I get..... Beep and no words LOL I say in my sweetest patient voice, "honey I can't hear you" Beep no words. LOL

When I do hear her, she says "your crooked" LOL

That sounds eerily similar to my situation!

Here is what I back up almost every day. This pic is when I bought the truck in August of 2012. It now has a little over 670,000 miles on it. Tractor has a 228" wheel base with a 70" sleeper on it. The trailer is 53' long. Try backing that thru a tight lot at night with no help, to your right side into a dock between two trailers, and no back window to look out of! 500hp, 1750 lb tq, and 18 forward gears with 4 reverse.
