Grille Swap???

Recommended Posts

Anyone willing to swap their painted black grille for my chrome one? Must be a 2016 or 17. Just thought I'd throw it out there....

We are on the same mission! Same truck and desires.

Have you seen the new grilles on Chevy's website? They have color matched grilles with an embossed "CHEVROLET" across the top.

Plasti-dip? Can just peel it off if you want to go back to stock.

Just don't like the look of plasti dip, never have. But thank you for the input.

AllTerrainX had one of, if not the best, looking trucks on here. His is a perfect example of why to use plasti-dip. If you saw his truck or someplace, I doubt you or anyone else wouldn't think it was professionally done. For less than $50 you can completely transform the look of your truck...Just my 2 cents.

I have 8 cans of plasti- dip awaiting a new home on my rims, grill, headlight trim, bumpers & badges. I'll post some before and after pictures once it's done.

It just doesn't gloss like paint, it looks dull and I don't want a dull grill up against my real paint.

I guess I get that, since you have a gloss paint job. I have my truck wrapped in a matte paint protection film, so a matte plasti-dip works out for me. They do have plasti-dip glossifier, but I dont know how that looks.

Check out this video. It shows what the glossifier looks like. It's probably worth the $20 to try it before getting a whole new grill.

I am not a fan of the glossifier. It is extremely tacky/sticky. My fingerprints were all over it after I was done. I was happy with the look though and saved a ton just doing the plastidip and then adding the inserts.

This is just slightly off topic, but I have a 2015 GMC Sierra SLE, and love the look of the Denali chrome lattice grills,

s-l1000.jpg

and thought about installing a 3rd party to replace my grill

2015-gmc-sierra-grill-detail-location-04

But wondered about the air flow, and as the most important thing that the grill does, is let air flow to the radiator, I did not want to potentially sacrifice cooling efficiency for good looks, so I just kept the default grill, and kept my money too!
