6.2L and dealership problems

6.2L starting idling bad and throwing codes. This has been my first issue with it since I bought it used with 30k on it. (Currently at 55k). I drove it to Cerrone Chevy in Attleboro MA to get it checked out. They couldn't look at it on Friday so it stayed there all weekend and they called to tell me Monday afternoon that a lifter froze and belt a push rod. And the warrantee was all set and it was going to be covered. Wednesday they call to let me know it's done BUT***** now my truck doesn't want to stop and I need a vacuum pump for my brakes and they want $500 to do the job. I've argued with them for about a week now and I'm looking for a way to get in touch with someone at GM to force them to fix my truck at there expensive because there was nothing wrong with the brake system when I dropped it off

I would go in person and verify the brakes are in need of repair. I have taken a truck in for one item and then got a call that another issue had come up with a costly price. Turned out to be false. I wouldnt let them know your coming either.

You bought a used truck. The truck is now out of warranty by 19k miles. Why should GM fix it at their cost? These things break. Go pick it up and slap a used booster on it for next to nothing.

Gee thanks for the great advice, hope your shit gets busted by the dealership and they bend you over like they are trying to do to me. I work hard for money I don't like other people spending it

Is it the same dealership that you bought the truck from? And, it never hurts to open a claim, if there was a failure, GM might be able to help you with some sort of compensation. Make sure to file the claim before returning for your truck.

Someone may not have connected the vacuum pump to the booster properly. If you havent done so, check that before you buy anything.

I agree that the dealership and GM should be taking care of you. You dropped your truck off with brakes working and are getting a truck back without the brakes working. Seems like a dealer f-up to me and they should be fixing it on their dime, not yours.
