Just bought this 2017 Suburban Premier and having Transmission Problem

Hey guys so I bought a 17 premier about 2 months ago and I have had some trans problems took it to the dealer about 4-5 times for this problem and they can't figure it out. When going from reverse to drive. And give gas. It slips it does it when fully stopped and still rolling about 1-3 mph took it to the dealer and they said it's 50-50 some of do it some don't. And it does it when it wants to but when it does it sucks and does it a lot . When it don't it's fine And said it was a shutter issue and that the trans is electronic and it's shifting between gears when I give gas but I think it's a bad trans Wondering if anyone else had this problem

Been on the forum for a few years, have not read any transmission problems as you describe it. Walk like a duck, talk like a duck, look like a duck, then it must be a duck. This sounds like an easy one, can't believe they said "a shutter issue and that the trans is electronic and it's shifting between gears". If that's what the dealer thought, they would have said it on the first visit vs saying it on visit 4-5? I wouldn't buy that 50/50 crap. Still, if the owners manual doesn't make that claim, how do they and expect you to be ok with it. My truck doesn't do it, tell those guys to show you something or fix it. But take it to another dealership, after 4-5 times these guys are not going to make anything happen.

And thank you the wheels is why I bought it honestly and if you have some tires like that I can get you some pretty cheap instead of paying full price for vouges and there brand new with the labels on them and everything

IMO

It's under warranty. Drive it and see if it stops or the trans fails. Keep the dealers up dated if ti continues.

Load it down and get on it in an unpopulated area, you'll really know if the trans is slipping. Changing anything on my truck right now is not going to happen. These trucks are hit and miss with issues, either you get one that has them or not. My truck doesn't have any issues, so I don't want to press my luck. I have a couple more years until my extended warranty expires, then I'll let some folks I know in a hod rod shop change some things out, like lowering, replacing suspension components, different wheels and whatever else the wife wants since it's her truck. I do have a good dealer and mechanic, but Central California coast is a bit too far for you.

I have a 2017 Tahoe Premier and have experienced the same thing ... This is my 5th or 6th Tahoe and the first one that has ever given me problems. At first I thought is was a rough engine issue, but am leaning more towards the trans issue that you described. I have also noticed that the "neutral drop" symptom seems to happen more often after the truck has been sitting for an hour or so??? Wondering if this is this a low trans fluid or pressure issue?

Have also been experiencing rather poor mileage on the road ... Averaged around 19 on a 2000 mile road trip to FL and my previous 2015 Tahoe would get 22-23 on the same trip. Have you noticed what I will call a "shudder" when slowly accelerating?

I get horrible gas mileage avg is 15-16 at 80mph on the highway also

It doesn't slip charging on up shifts trust me I even laid rubber down spun out all first then shifted into 2nd just to see perfectly fine. And fun just going to reverse to drive feel like I Neutral dropped the thing

I just bought a 2017 suburban premier as well. Mine seems to have sluggish starts from stop and I have to give it extra gas before it kicks in and goes. The demo unit I used before I bought this did NOT do this. **** me.....

Same shudder when slowly accelerating from stop. I even had my buddy drive it that owns a Silverado and he said the same thing.

Also have a problem now that the engine feels likes it's miss firining after I drive it for a while. At a red light completely stopped car feels like it's miss firing. And my rear blower motor for heat/act is making a crazy loud noise.

You are not going to get very good mileage driving 80 mph. The faster you go, the more fuel you will use, common sense. Studies have shown going from 55 to 75 mph can increase fuel consumption by as much as 20%.

15 city/22 hwy is what I see on a local dealer website

Well in southern Wisconsin where I do most of my driving speed limit is 70 so traffic always does at least 80 until they see a cop lol

Dropped my truck off to the dealer and had the service manager drive my truck with me in it and the demo truck I used before. He noticed the difference as well and said he would have his techs rum both trucks Monday and download the data between them. Crossing my fingers.

They explained that it's because I have the max trailer package and my rear differentials are 3.42 vs 3.08 of the demo truck I drove. Makes sense to me. I would take tour truck in and keep documenting it. You can probably claim lemon law.
