2015 cooled seats interchangeable with 2016 vented?

Anyone know if the 15 ltz seats are interchangeable with the newer vented seats? I hate not being able to turn on my cooled seats when someone is sitting behind me, it blows all the hot air right to the rear passenger

Really? The 15's blow hot air behind them?

Am i the only one with that problem then?

They do blow hot air out of the exhaust vent in the seat panel. If I recall there is an updated part for this to make it less noticeable.

IIRC they just rerouted the warm air to blow under the seat versus through the back vents. I run the cooled seats on my 15 when there are people behind and they don't seem to complain even when I point out that it should be blowing warm air. My main complaint is the noise they make on full blast.

The 15 vs 16 seats are different. The 14-15 seats had a cooling effect that actually produced cool air. That is why you had the heat venting out. The 16 seats just take in the air from the cab and blows it through the seats. IMO if you switch the seats you will not like them! If I had the option of getting them again (I have a 16) I would have said no thanks. They work good on cool 70-80 degree days but any hotter they suck.

I find that mine really only work well when the AC is on and the cab is cool. I logged some serious miles last summer through the desert where it was north of 100 degrees and left the cooled seats on the lowest setting. I haven't compared the 14-15 to the newer models but overall I'm pretty happy with how mine work. If I had to do it again I'd probably go back to cloth seats, as I found the heated seats were better and there wasn't a need for cooled seats.

On the seats with the vents on the seatbacks, there is some heat transfer on the back, but most of the airflow goes out the bottom of the set. Quite a bit of force when set on "high", too. I've also never had anyone notice it at all unless placing their hand there to see if it's true. Perhaps the cooled vs ventilated seating is the reason for the loss of the rear vents on the seatbacks.
