Cylinder head TSB?

I just got off the phone with the dealer. The truck was in because the check engine light was on and idle seemed a little rough. They said it has to have a cylinder head replaced due to a pinhole.Said it is a known issue with the 5.3 engine. Has anyone heard of this or had it done? Should I be concerned they're only replacing one side? The truck has 36,000 miles and is a 2015.

Haven't heard of such thing. I just did a search based on those keywords in service information and didn't find anything. Did they show you the pinhole? I'd be curious as to how they know it has one or are they just reaching....

They said it could be a pinhole allowing coolant to seep into one cylinder. One cylinder is misfiring. The plan is to add dye to the coolant then pull the intake manifold to look for seepage. They showed me the tsb but I didn't get the number. I spoke to them and asked them to rule out other potential problems before jumping into this.

Do you know where I can look this up to read the details?

It's 2017 and the new truck/engine still have some pretty good issues popping up. This is why I like buying the LAST year of the model. EG- '07 6.0 powerstroke F250. Zero issues friends.... by then all the bugs were worked out.

Is it throwing a misfire code? And if so, only throwing the code on idle ?

It was misfiring on two cylinders. they tested the injectors and found two bad ones. No cylinder head replacement. Running good now.
