What tint are you guys running with? Pics?

So this was litterally just now in the rain at 9:30 pm. First pic is through windshield 20% ceramic and 5% top strip. You cant see through the top at all.

Next pic shows drivers window down a little. 5% and 20% ceramic. Very hard to see out of side windows at night. CANT SEE OUT OF BACK WINDOWS.

This way you can see the difference of all tints at night.

Good thing is i have side cameras under the mirrors when i put my turn signals on, they show on my head unit. They have night vision so they show up crystal clear at night.

I have the factory tint on all back windows.
Plus 5% regular tint and a 20% ceramic tint

On front door windows
5% regular tint and 20% ceramic tint

Windshield
5% regular tint top strip
Entire windshield 20% ceramic tint

I have to say, the sides are very hard to see out of at night. However, the windshield is no trouble to see out of. You cant even tell at night that the windshield is tinted.

I got pulled over by the police and he said he couldnt see inside the truck. Then told me about state law saying i couldnt have anything more than 70% on the front doors. And nothing on the windshield below the AS1 mark. The difference between having the 5% on the top strip and not is huge. The cop didnt know i had the whole windshield done because all he saw was the top strip.he gave me a ticket for the front doors or i could have removed it. So i chose to pay it rather than remove and have it redone later.

Do ceramic tint. Regular tint is for color only. It has no effect on heat. However ceramic tint removes almost all the heat.

I have 5% all around minus windshield on my regular cab and I've found that it help if you lower the brightness off the cluster/screen down at night.

How true. If the brightness is up, it throws a killer glare on the drivers window.

Yes exactly, now imagine that killer glare in a regular cab and I can see the the glare on every window. The first night with the 5% was a nightmare.

Yup. I bet they automatically think that you dont have a real problem and you just wanted to fake it just to get that paper. Medical restriction is the ONLY way to get around tint laws. Not that im saying you found a way to get AROUND it. My wife gets migraines too so i understand how bad they get. She has been to the hospital several times in tears because of them. But the way i understand it, that paper is pretty hard tp get. Are you in PA?

I have a slip from my doctor stating that I have light sensitive eyes and get migraines from it. Been stopped numerous times and the cops just throw it back at me and walk away.

A buddy of mine had a doctor’s note too. A pretty sharp cop pulled him over, and my friend happily provided the note. The cop read it, then he leaned over to look through the un-tinted windshield, leaned back and said “what about the windshield” as he tapped on the clear glass and questioned why he didn’t have a problem with the main window he looked through and why he couldn’t just wear sunglasses.

Caught off guard and unprepared to answer, my friend had no answer. The cop said not to worry, he didn’t have to explain it to him and handed him a ticket saying to explain it to the judge. My friend removed the tint, which is all you have to do in order to get the ticket fine waived, and hasn’t had tinted windows since. He said the humiliation wasn’t worth it. I found this highly entertaining.

After LASIK, my eyes are very sensitive to bright light. I’m certain a I could get a doctors not about this, however, why I couldn’t just wear sunglasses is a question I cannot answer.

This is why I just stick with 20% up front. Here in IL we’re not suppose to have anything less than 50%. I Havent been stopped with it on any vehicle in the last 15yrs. Plus anything lower I find it to be a pita to back the camper up especially in the dark.
