Hi. I've owned 2 Chevrolet trucks. My current ride is a 2000 Chevrolet 1500 Silverado. I have 294000 miles, and have a question. I'm now hearing a clunk sound every time my auto Trans shifts. It feels like it's coming from the rear end. I've read through the topic comments on types of lubricant to use. However, when I take my truck into the peeps that have serviced my Silvarado for 15 yrs, they say the rear end lubricant is full. This is why I'm reaching out to ya'll. It doesn't make the clunks sound during the winter, but this is the 2nd summer and the noise comes after the transmission shifts. The peeps explained the clunk as a one time thing because I was driving in summer HWY stop & go situation, and probably won't ever happen again. Well, it's summer,& the clunk has returned. They've checked the rearend lubricant and say it's full. I would appreciate your suggestions.

Welcome! Sounds like the notorious slip yoke clunk. It's nothing serious just kind of annoying.
