Lowering best way??

So the truck is a 2016 sierra crew cab. 22" Denali wheels

Rear----I see 2" drop shackles and a flip is about 4" drop-----RIGHT???

I really don't like the removing of the factory rear shackle mount and bolting a new one in. However that is the way do get more than 4"------Right???

For the front 2" spindles and if any more shocks with collars. SO 2" spindles and I could add 1/2-1 or more drop.---Right???? part 34170

So the 2 kits I am looking at are different in that one has a new leaf springs with dual not triple leafs. This means less spring. But is called DELUXE 34100

So last question.

I like the smaller rear leafs as I want to add Caltrac bars. I worry if the bar would hit the 3rd leaf that hangs down. When I need to see if I can jam exhaust under the traction bar. < anyone??

Thanks!

How low are you wanting to go? And also what size tires are you running? A flip kit gets you 6 to 7 in the back. They add lifting shackles to that to get the 4 inch drops. You can do 2 inch shackles and take out the factory blocks to get about a 3 and ahalf inch drop. And yes the front struts are adjustable in half inch increments.

Axle flip is 4". You can achieve more through shackle or once flipped, a block. Lower than 6" you may need to shorten your drive shaft an inch or so. You will need new rear shocks. There is also a lip under the bed you'll either have to cut or hammer flat. Over 7" and you're getting into c-notches.

For the front you can do arms or spindles. I chose to get arms due to all of the reports I read about people having trouble getting alignment correct with spindles. The kit I used is a 4/6 kit from Inez Hot Rods and Customs. They're based in Texas. They have standard kits but you can also get custom widths if you choose.

The 4/6 kit is front adjustable with steel shims they provide. So if you like a little more rake in the front you can do 5/6 or 6/6 just by popping out a shim from the strut. The kit is very well built.

Hope this helps.

Just a flip kit is 7" you'll need the shackle flip/lift hanger to raise it with a lowering shackle

Looks like the factory triple leaf is a issue with the caltracs. So this kit is better option.

So this is the kit I like then if I want any more I can buy the shocks and blocks in the rear.

The tires are 285/45/22 Stock. I would like more rubber to hold the power but time will tell.

I DO NOT want the raked look I like it level. So I will start with the 2/4 and then see if I want more.

That's not a flip kit so you won't have the option to go lower in the rear with this kit. At least not as simple as blocks. Since axle will still be under the new leafs a block would raise the truck.

Back in my day Bell Tech and DJM made good quality lowering kits.

As a broke A-- teen, it was a trip to the exhaust shop so they could heat the springs and leafs until desired height was reached. Looked cool but rode like chit. Worked a summer at a Video Rental place to save the money for a Bell Tech.

Good question I didn't see that. Have to check first also that kit is 3/5 not 2/4. I have rear drive shaft issues with 5"+ in the rear.

Ok so now I am thinking the DJM 3/5 lowering arms. I read everything I could find on here and there are stories of turn radius issues with lowering spindles and shock/springs making the wheels sit farther back in the fender well.

Also any negative issues with removing the overload leaf? What about clamping it to the other leafs? Harder ride maybe?

Thanks again guys.
