Ouch! Hurts to see such a nice truck in such bad shape. I would take off as much as I could from the truck if I was you though. I did that when my son totaled his Civic, we swapped wheels, took the system out, LED bulbs, pretty much anything we could get out hands on and remove, we did. Insurance gave us the OK to do it so we did. I would definitely check into it considering all the upgrades you've done.

I added coverage of my aftermarket stuff....the insurance covers most of my aftermarket add ons for 50$ every 6 months extra...that's a no brainier for me.

They don't cover my lift on the Jeep or truck but I'm ok with that.

Also have extra acc. Coverage on my RZR ....

There so much money we add to the things.

That the cost for extra coverage is worth every penny

Thank you all again! I did some research on youtube and the magna flow 22" muffler seems to be a nice addition. I always have the magna flow dual exhaust installed... about a 1000.00 and it sounds really good, but it wears me out after a while as I mentioned before. I don't really need all that now. The magna flow muffler sounds nice from what I hear and I have also read that it doesn't have that loud "wear you out" type of drone.

Anyway... I have also CONSIDERED, just letting my truck get paid off in the loss and then just buying a 5-6000 used truck and not have all the debt. Although.... then comes 5-600.00 here and there for this and that and this and that... also safety issues. As my truck DID save my life and I have a new lease on life in my mind right now. ughhhhh! I don't know.

Wait! I DO know... I want a new truck!

OR I could go 2014 or 2015 and go silverado 4wd LTZ....? hmmmmmmm.

Ok, guys... it's umm... its raining here in south Texas as I'm sure you're all aware! All is safe and sound so far in San Antonio.

Here's the latest...

My Truck dealer guy called me up and basically said, "Trust me, I know what you like, you need to get in here"

They had HUGE deals on 2017 demo trucks that they are pushing HARD to get out. There is one that was pretty much "done" with huge discounts. Below are the specs!

2017 LT Crew Cab - Silver

Texas Edition

Leather - Black

Bose with the updated head unit (car play etc)

Chrome running boards

Windows Tinted

Drop in Bed Liner

20" brushed 5 spoke wheels

Paint protection film on front and also on edges of the doors

Changes I made:

2" Leveling Kit

22" GM Stock Wheels - Black Machine Faced Wheel with GM Black Chevy Center caps

305/45/22 Nitto AT tires

Illuminated black GM Bowtie front, black bowtie back

GM 4" black tubular side steps

That's it... Level, wheels/tires, bowties and running boards.

It's not ready yet, but when it is and I get it, I will be posting pics!!! I'm looking forward to a nice clean looking truck, that's quiet and has a nice ride!! I drove one with 22's and it was just as nice as other with 20s, so that won't be an issue for "me" so far. I also plan to keep the 20s I'm taking off of it for a while, just in case I want to go with those and a bigger tire later. I will be selling the chrome running boards though!

Pics to come!

Good to hear you have a new ride Mrob. Already have it looking good from what I gather. Stay safe??

Lgetz: I see you have Bilstein 5100s. I'm thinking of doing that too... will that make much of a difference in a brand new truck like this? I want it to ride smooth.

Sorry for your loss MRob. You had a nice looking truck! Hope everyone is ok out of all that. As much as it may be repairable, it won't be the same truck. I'd hope the insurance company gives you a fair amount for the truck if they write it off, including the mods.

Fishbait: From your user name I assume you may have a boat... looks like you're gonna need it over there. Hang in there brother! Hope your truck is ok too!

Congrats on the new truck. Can't go wrong with the simple leveled setup.

MRob I would say that the Bilstein 5100's make for a firmer but more controlled ride than stock. There is a curve with a railroad crossing near my home and the back end stays planted with the Bilsteins. On stock Ranchos the rear tended to skip sideways when negotiating the same curve.

Hmmmm.... I should pick the truck up tomorrow pending the weather situation here. I think I will drive it stock for a bit and see how it feels to me, then post my thoughts and go from there.

Pictures to come soon!! Thanks again all!

Hey guys! Ok... here we go! I finally got some shots... This is how I got her from the dealer as described above!

I have to say, the ride and the drive is AMAZING! Wow! It REALLY rides and drives so smooth! Like a "new" truck SHOULD ride and drive. It's impressive to me how much the lift on the other truck REALLY changed this! I'm SO glad (at my age/time in life that I ONLY leveled it)

I will make minor cosmetic changes and will post pics as I do that... it's a sweet truck and I love it!
