RPM REDLINE

So I see no redline on the dash as is often the design on tachs....... And it certainly is easy to see it rev to 5,000 RPM or better...........

So you can do no harm hitting 5,000 to 6,000 RPM? The computer knows enough to "de-fuel" or something if things are not right?

For the L86 6.2, peak horsepower hits at 5600rpm, redline is 6000rpm. 5.3 L83 peak horsepower hits at 5600rpm, redline at 5800rpm. 4.3 LV3 peak horsepower hits at 5300rpm, redline at 5800rpm. Computer should be smart enough to cut fuel before something bad happens.

I think the last Chevy I had with a "red-line" on the dash would have been my 1996 S-10. 99, 04, 08, 14 and now my 16 did/does not have any marks on the tach.

Well that makes me feel good - I have wrapped it up there unintentionally a couple times........ I looked up the 2017 Camaro and Corvette 6.2L ratings and peak HP is rated at 6,000 RPM on both of them .........
