My BFG KO2 review

Recommended Posts

Just put on a new set of KO2s 275 75 18 and wanted to share my opinion on them compared to others. The ride is good better then I thought it would be. Tire noise is not as quite as everyone made them out to be you can hear them but there not bad at all as far as MPGs I'm guessing a 2 to 3 mph loss factoring in the tire size difference of 5.4% but I'm going to have to burn a full tank of gas first I have my last full tank of gas on a pic of the old stock tired and hand calculated MPG of 17.16

Holy poo, are you putting premium in your truck? 87oct gets me the same mpgs as 91oct.

Keep track of your cost per mile. If your price mix is similar to the east coast you'll find that cheap gas is less per mile than 93.

Love my KO2's. I keep my E rated ones inflated to 43-45, what have you found as a good pressure?

This is my second set of KO2s. I had a set on my '07 Silverado and was at around 35K miles on them when I sold it and the tread depth was still excellent. I have about 4K on my current set and still no complaints. The performance, durability, and great appearance (imho) is a win-win-win!!

Oh yea, and life's too short to worry about gas mileage! I bought a Silverado, not a Prius!:chevy:

Hey MacA...

Your KO2's look great,, curious on their size and gas mileage change from stock tires...

Always been BFG AT fan, (the basics in another thred) for 2-Tahoes, 2-Toyota trucks, 1-old Blazer and my old 80 Toy 4X4 with 12.50 15's that I rolled rock climbing

Good thing I had roll bar !!

Will be dumping my crappy SR-A's for KO2's in November prior to midwest weather change and getting 285/55/20's, that will upsize from stock 275/55/20's..

Cheers-----K

They are 275/60R20 w/ a 2.25" ProComp leveling kit. Probably could have gone a little bigger, but decided to not worry about rubbing. And again, I don't drive long distances too often, so I don't care about gas mileage changes.... Sorry!

I have always run Firestone Destination A/T tires on my trucks but decided to try the BFG K02's on my Sierra when the factory goodyears wore out. Initially I was disappointed by how noisy they were, and the drop in MPG. However after leaving Houston in the middle of the intense Hurricane Harvey rains and returning in even worse rain and flooding, I have to say I have been won over completely.

The amount of stability and confidence driving on the freeway in heavy rains and standing water is amazing. Truck never squiggled at highway speeds while other SUV's were clearly losing traction. These tires shine when driving in the worst conditions
