2016 Silverado 5.3 6 speed turning corner on V4

Hello,

 

Not sure how to describe this but I'll do the best I can. When slowing down from 40mph coming to an intersection and taking a left turn (without stopping) the engine remains in V4 mode. If I immediately put gas on after the turn it switches to V8 almost flawlessly but if I am really slow to accelerate it stays in V4 and then if I give it a bit of gas I feel a chug chug chug prior to it going into V8. It's possible it's getting to a shift point when this happens but I've only felt it chug like this after a turn without stopping.

 

Has anyone else had this happen (I have a 6 speed) and know if there is a solution to it?

Normal. My 2012 did the same thing. Either drive in M5 or do the Range AFM module and turn it off.

If you are coming in hot and coasting through the corner, the truck doesn't know when you will hit the gas again and need v8. Try slowing down a little more before you turn the corner then giving light gas through the turn. I bet it won't hesitate as much then. My dad always taught me to slow down before, then accelerate through the turn.

Thank you both for the response. I will try slowing down even more before turning to see how that effects it. This is such an awesome group of people here with so much advice.

Try turning off the grade braking. Mine does the exact same thing you're describing with GB on. It's much better with it off.
