Extended warranty by Zurich experience

The dealer I purchased my truck from is offering an extended warranty through a 3rd party named Zurich. Has anyone had a claim through them, do they actually help? I've heard 3rd party warranties are no good but apparently they don't offer GM extended warranties.

Thanks!

I was told to never invest in after market warranty's. It's just a way to make a bigger profit off of you. And when push comes to shove chances are whatever needs repair won't be covered.

That's my understanding as well, however, I would love to hear from someone who has dealt with this specific company especially as I'm learning GM does not offer extended warranties.

Take the money you would have wasted on the warranty and put it in a savings account to pay for any needed repairs. If you sell the truck whatever is left in the bank account is still yours. As an aside if you can't afford to pay for repairs needless to say don't buy the truck.

Thanks, it was $1200 for a bumper to bumper 6 year 70k. Seemed pretty cheap and some folks say they covered certain items, some say they're horrible. The truck only has 8500 miles on it. I find it odd no dealers sell a factory GM extended warranty.
