dealer IS replacing my brakes

Picked up my truck last night from the dealer and got an explanation on everything that I had written down for work.

1. Engine clicking: Oil pump o-ring - on order

2. Driveline clunk from 1-2 shift - normal (got a whole thing from GM explaining what going on with that)

3. Rattle from rear end - park brake shoe clip broken, causing park show to wear - on order

4. Squeaking and squealing from front - could not reproduce (naturally)

5. Brake problems - hard to stop vehicle:

On my order it says rear rotors rusted, will replace when park shoes replaced.

I took it a little further... when she mentioned the squeak in the front could not be reproduced, I said that's ok, I'm sure when I have my front brakes done tomorrow, it will go away. She kinda just looked at me. I continued to explain to her that I have a real hard time stopping the truck when towing the boat and that it is not safe for someone else driving my truck to even stop without the boat. I went on about knowing that GM wouldn't do anything about it and already had an appointment with my mechanic for a complete brake job :sigh: .

She then surprised me and says well I don't want you paying out of pocket for this, let me see what I can do. I'm going to talk with the service manager. I continued to expalin to her that my appointment was tomorrow morning and needed to know something before I take the truck home. She says hold on, I'll come outside with you. We walk out to the truck and I show her one of the rear rotors and say this is not normal. She checks it over and says nope, you're right, with the miles you have on your truck this is wrong, I don't know whay they didn't pick up on it. I show her the front... nope not right either, these are all heat glazed. She continues on and says again, I don't want you paying out of pocket, so here's what I'm going to do. I'll replace all the rotors or turn them if they can be, plus all the other work that needs to be done on Monday. But I can't give you pads, instead of buying them here, which are about $120, you buy the pads, bring them to me Monday and I'll put them on, plus all the other work and won't charge you any labor even though it isn't covered. OK  . Can you change the brake fluid for me too? More than likely the fluid has heated and is loosing it's power. Yup, no problem. I'll need it all day Monday and everything will be done for you.

I'll let everyone know how it goes Monday

Dealer is in Holden, MA...a bit of a drive for most of you guys

Taaaaahoe - what info you looking for? My engine had a constant clicking sound from the lower end (from the oil pan area). I've seen somewhere before where the o-ring on the oil pump is being replaced to stop it. I'm hoping this solves my problem.

By the way, I ended up buying the pads at the dealer this morning. My mechanic showed me list on his best pads...$98.xx for front pads :sigh: . He suggested I just get them from GM
