alfmoonspace Posted October 30, 2017 Posted October 30, 2017 Anyone else has had this happen to them? Feel like my dealer is starting to hate me.
dc1515 Posted October 30, 2017 Posted October 30, 2017 This happened to me as well. Had it replaced under warranty.
alfmoonspace Posted October 30, 2017 Author Posted October 30, 2017 (edited) Maybe get this replaced at the same time as TSBing my headlight issue. Edited October 30, 2017 by alfmoonspace
Mervkirwin Posted October 30, 2017 Posted October 30, 2017 Had it happen on my 2014, dealership did nothing and said it was just a thing that happens.
Mervkirwin Posted October 30, 2017 Posted October 30, 2017 (edited) Just went and looked at my 2017, and it looks the same as your picture. I’m going to wait till the summer and see if it forms a better seal. If it does not then I will have the dealership look at it under my bumper to bumper. When I first bought my truck the dealership could not get my tires balanced, I spent a lot of time at the dealership for them to get it fixed. I also thought they were starting to hate me, the money we pay for our trucks, I don’t care what they think. Just fix my problem. Edited October 30, 2017 by Mervkirwin
alfmoonspace Posted October 31, 2017 Author Posted October 31, 2017 Man, that is frustrating. I will see if my dealer will fix it before winter gets here and fixes the headlight issue. Wondering if it gets warped in places with more extreme climates.

Oops! double post new site learning curve.....I had it probably worse than you.....and no I live in Phoenix it got worse not better with heat. Tell them to replace it and they have no choice as the other trucks do not have same appearance!
Dnt Posted January 17, 2018 Posted January 17, 2018 My 2014 looked exactly like that in the pic AFTER I USED WINDSHIELD DEICER several times to clear ice and snow off the windshield. At least that is what I thought caused it........... I cannot remember the brand of deicer (prestone in a yellow labeled container maybe?) as I threw the container away after I saw the warped plastic piece.
BlueTopaz14 Posted January 19, 2018 Posted January 19, 2018 Mine has always looked like that from day 1Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Pikesjb Posted March 10, 2020 Posted March 10, 2020 Anyone know where to get a replacement? Or the part number?

Looked up one for my '15 Sierra 1500 and the part # is 23207952. Available on eBay as well as several places on the web. Has anyone replaced one, how much of job is it?
RACERX7775 Posted December 12, 2020 Posted December 12, 2020 old topic. 14 silverado. but mine is flapping like crazy at highway speeds. The rubber is torn off in the middle. I cant believe how close it is to the bottom edge of the windshield. gonna just replace it. I never noticed it before I had my windshields replaced. oh well. Another $100 out the window..
Math-U Posted September 3, 2024 Posted September 3, 2024 Just finally tracked down a very agitating rattle/vibration on my 2015 GMC Sierra that seemed to be coming from my dash at highway speeds. Finally looked under the hood to see what air movement might cause to rattle. Eventually, I saw this cowl was cracked and weather worn right at the bottom of the windshield. The whole piece was kinda loose too. Anyway, I put some duct tape at the windshield/cowl interface to check and BAM! Sure enough, this is the culprit. Will order and replace asap. It's almost 10 years old so, I guess it was time! 1
