Road Force balnace failed?

I took my 2017 Denali CC, OEM 22s with Bridgestone Duelers in for the vibration that has been plaguing me for the last 10k miles. I'm at 16k now. Here is what happened. Road force balancing pretty much solved my problem in my short test drive. But here is what has me scratching my head.

"Road Forced balanced to the highest degree possible, 2 tires still failed"

So if tires are not even able to be roadforce balanced shouldn't they need to be replaced?

Should I just complain and say the truck still vibrates and push to get them replaced?

The truck still does have a vey slight vibration but it is leaps and bounds better.6ae31869e6d5d655a659b43bea2a369e.jpg

Did they move the tires on the rims to try to lessen the road force? When you get a high road force, your supposed to remove the tire from the rim, spin it 180 degrees and reinstall the tire and then re do the road force. And see if it goes down. The truck is still under a factory warranty and should not have a vibration. If they cannot figure your issue out, then go to someone that can or speak to someone higher up. If the wheel is out of round like they are saying I'm guessing? Then they need to be replaced. Again, the truck is under warranty 3/36k is basic. Which normally covers everything. Your driving a Denali... it's top of the line, there should be no issues at all. Especially at that mileage.

I wonder if you went by a Bridgestone tire dealer, if it would be anything they could or would do, since the tires are their product.

That is a good question I see they have a 5 year warranty for manufacture defect and workmanship but the website also mentions tread uniformity is warrantied for 1/32 of tread wear I wonder which category out of round tires would fall?

I would think you are out of that warranty period.  12 months or 12k miles which ever comes first.  Our 2016 Suburban had vibration issues. They road forcetested it and it failed the two front tires.  They replaced them under warranty since it was at 7k miles on the vehicle.  Been smooth ever since.

With all these vibration issue threads. I didn't read through them all but are the tires being replaced and it still has vibration issues?

In my area there is a shop (Chicago Wheel and Rim) that straightens bent alloy rims. Had two on my Buick done last winter the previous owner had put 2" dents into. There must be someone in your area that does this.

Yes most definitely. People have had Tires road force balanced, tires replaced, rear axles replaced, drive shaft replaced, torque converters and Drinks are still jumping out of the cup holder. How far down-the-line you get depends when GMC wants to say it's within spec.

I was pretty nervous that I would end up in that situation but I had a good feeling it was the tires because the vibration started after my 1st rotation but just haven't had time to get into the dealer for the last 10000 miles

Well they said it was out of round tires so I'm not sure if the rims could be the problem but they very well could be. And the 22's on the 2017 are not alloy they are steel powder coated rims with plastic Chrome inserts. It took me a month or 2 to figure out that they weren't actually Chrome kind of disappointing.

    • Curious, did anyone ever get a fix for the vibration reported here.   I have a 2024 Silverado with 6.6 duramax.   I’m noting the same vibration resonating up through the steering shaft into the steering wheel.    Best way to describe- like someone is tapping on the steering shaft/components and it’s resonating into the steering wheel.    thanks.
    • Hi friends - first time poster. I have a 2015 sierra Denali with 150k miles, I’m the second owner and she’s given me 75k of great service. I run a pulse AFM disable device. Starting Thursday when I exited the freeway after a short local ride it started idling rough, with an obvious misfire shake and was down on low end power.  I got it home and hooked it up to my scannner and found no codes but in live data a pretty bad misfire on cylinder 5. I replaced the coil, plug and wire with all new OE replacements (Delphi gn10165 coil, acdelco wire and 41-168 plug). It’s still behaving the same way after firing the parts cannon at it.   I know cyl 5 is a non AFM cylinder so I am not thinking this is AFM related but I’m kinda at a loss. injector? Bent pushrod? It’s running too well over 1k rpm to suggest those IMO. Has anyone chase this issue before and what was it? Any suggestions?
    • 2017 Silverado L83 5.3l 6speed transmission Hello, not a new member but havent posted in a while and my old signup info isnt working so had to create a new account. anyways, I have an issue with my truck and hope someone can spread some light on whats happening: -when it goes to 4cyl mode it makes a clunk sound (but not when coasting or going downhill) -when in 4 cyl mode and under load it makes a load pulsating sound (not a tick). -goes away completely when in M5 gear or when plugging in an AFM delete. Im guessing it is one of 2 things but im not convinced of either to be honest. 1. lifter stuck in v8 mode 2. torque converter shudder realistically it doesn't seem like the TC as there is no physical vibration , and it never happens in v8 mode. but maybe? and wouldnt a lifter make a sound whether with load or not? any ideas let me know please. thank you!
    • Which has made me wonder with the various engine failures of a few brands in the last few years, is it sub par materials such as lifters etc causing failures, or bearing clearances on the crank etc or perhaps bad designing of an engine physically or causing too much load on the components due to the hp/torque they can push out of them. Or is the oil viscosity and additive package of current oils or a lack of oil flow by an oil pump not able to supply sufficient oil at idle or under high load at low rpm. Or is it every item I listed that combined together has pushed the limits so far to the left that there is hardly a margin of safety left and add in some fuel dilution and too long of an OCI and premature engine failure is the result ?.
