2016 Z71 18" Painted Wheel Question

Stopping in for a visit here from the Silverado/Sierra Section. Hope you big SUV guys don't mind.

 

I have a 2014 Silverado LTZ Z71 with the 18" RD1 wheels. I would like to paint them the color of the metallic grey (RD1)wheels that were available on the 2016 Tahoe and Suburban Z71's. Does anybody know anything about this paint? I would like to get that same color if possible. I asked the guy at the dealership and I got the deer in the headlight look. Any help appreciated, thanks in advance.

What do you want to know about the paint?

Any local automotive paint supply store should be able to mix that color in any quality grade you want.

That wheel is actually RPO RCV.  Color is listed as Midnight Silver.  GM's color compatibility chart however, only lists one color for Tahoe wheels.  http://www.genuinegmparts.com/pdf/touchuppaint/2017-gm-color-compatibility-guide.pdf

Cool.  These look like the same wheels that are on my Silverado, I'm not the biggest fan of them right now, but with this paint job these actually look amazing.  Gonna add this to the list of things to do.  Now the question is black or grey.

Duplicolor makes a wheel paint that’s close to the same color. The color is called “graphite”.

I've seen the black wheels on a few trucks around here - black, white and red trucks I believe. I think black wheels look good on certain colors such as those and maybe silver. Outside of that I would go with the Midnight Silver wheels. especially with my brownstone paint. just my two cents.

Thanks for the help. Please see pics below. I didn't like the midnight silver(too close to body color) so I went with the Dark Argent Metallic(WA234M)
