dash just cracked

So like the title states, my dash just cracked when i hit a nasty pothole at low speed. Pretty bummed at the moment as i looked at a ton of used yukons/tahoes before finding this one(with 0 cracks in the dash). I know it's a common occurrence, but was hoping since i took good care of my vehicle i could avoid it. The crack is very small, just bugs me because i know what it could turn into. Is there anything i can do with the crack being so small now to stop it from spreading? The truck only has around 34000 miles, shame it happened already. Part of me says trade it in and find something newer that doesn't have the cracking dash issues.

I saw a video on either Facebook or Youtube, and it was shop somewhere in Texas that reinforces the areas that are cracked, repairs the cracks, and repaints the dash to look new. I'm trying to find the video, but the results looked great.

For the time being, you may be able to remove the cluster and get to the bottom side of the crack and glue/epoxy in a piece of plastic to reinforce the cracked area to keep it from spreading.

thank you! i'll keep my eye's peeled and see if i can find that video as well. I found a layover i guess you would call it on dash skin . com, which seems like an easy fix to make sure it doesn't happen again(or seems like it is) but i'm just worried about if i ever need to replace the speaker in the middle of the dash or need to get under the front trim piece on the dash. On my next trip to the dealer for something i will bring it up and see if they will help out of offer any other solutions. It bugs me that for a $70000 SUV when new has this happen. GM is so much better than that, or they were at least on the previous chevy and gmc i owned.

Dash in my 2010 cracked about 2000 miles out of warranty and dealer tried to get GM to help with replacement. GM wanted me to pay half ($300) and they'd pay the other half, but the new one wouldn't be covered under warranty. I have seen where GM replaced the dash, split costs with the owner, not covered any cost, then replacement costs of up to $1500 (labor and parts) with no rhyme or reason as to the difference in coverage and costs. There has been a redesign since then with reinforcement in the areas prone to cracking.

thanks again for the info! I've been thinking of selling the yukon for a few months now, and the dash might be the thing that pushes me to taking the plunge and buying. Shame too for how nice of a vehicle it is.
