Does CarPlay work with spotify?

Hey guys, I have a 2015 without CarPlay and I'm looking to upgrade it to CarPlay.  My problem is when I plug my phone in and try to use spotify it never works, it plays like 3 seconds of the song and stops every time.

 

I'm just curious if anyone uses spotify with CarPlay and if it works good before I spend $1000 on the upgrade

Works flawlessly in my ‘17 Sierra. I have Spotify premium and use it almost exclusively when I’m in the truck.

Works great for me. I usually don’t use CarPlay but that works too.

Yep works fune in my 2017 Sierra with carplay

Mine works great in my 16 Silverado.  I do have a issue periodically where CarPlay doesn't automatically launch when I plug my phone in, just have to unplug and plug back in and it usually launches.

Works great for me as well.  I generally use Pandora over spotify but don't believe I have had any issues.
