1960 Chevy Apache Power Steering

Hello Everyone, hoping one of you chevy gurus can help me. I have a 1960 Apache that I’m trying to install power steering. The truck has a V8-350 from a 78’ Malibu so it’s not an original engine. The PS pump requires it to be mounted near the left freeze plug but there is a bracket there that gets in the way. Please see pictures. Do you know what the shroud is for?

Looks more like a guard for the harmonic balancer.

It's a motor mount.

You need to grind some of that away. Stovebolt.com has some posts on this...

  Can I ask if you are having issues with the current coils? With all of my years around LS engines, the stock coils are the best hands down. If they aren't giving you any problems, do no change them. They can go 200-300k miles easy without a hiccup.

  Call an auto recycler, t g ey zhoukd have an interchange data base. The data base goes WAY back and is an urreplaceable asset.
