The HID is a more focused light beam where the LEDs I had weren’t. The projector housing scattered the light more with the LEDs than the HID or Halogens. The halogens weren’t bright enough for me so I went with The retrofit source kit.

What color bulbs did you end up getting and did the match the small LED lights in the headlight?

I went with 5500’s. I’d say they are pretty close. Let me see about getting a pic later today for you.

It's not so much as the HID is more focused as the bulbs produce light on all sides, as it is the lens that they are in aren't ment for the intensity.

I'm currently running the opt7 flux X in the high and low beams in my 14 silvy with LTZ projectors. I'm pleased with they're output. They work great and if I need more when there isn't any oncoming traffic I hit the highs. If that's not enough while on the ole back roads I hit the rigid fogs. If your running projectors then you should be fine as they focus the light in a better used pattern rather than scattering it in a reflector housing. Hope this helps.

Here's the difference in the lows and highs. 4a6e3a725333d5a46bdd800bf5dfefa2.jpga0489bfe857180a14a67add8f6dfa508.jpg

High and low is one bulb in my Sierra.

I believe OP stated he had a Silverado, which does not use one bulb for low/high beam.

Sierra use 9012 bulb, and a shutter to operate high beams.  Try thrretrofitsource.com for the morrimoto HID kit, plug and play.  You can get LED fog light assemblies or just bulbs.  Stuff is good quality.  there is a sticky on lighting that will tell you all about it.
