Muffler/Exhaust Options

Thanks for the input, I appreciate it. The price is very attractive, but the thought of drone noise is a definite turn off. I has a exhaust that droned on my 05 and I hated it. I think I'm going to go for the GM performance exhaust made by Corsa.  Also I know this thread is about exhaust, but speaking about SLP they have a can that looks nice. The tq and how increase looks good by there Dyno , also in one add it says it doesn't void Factory warranty, but who knows.

Did anyone get the Borla system that GM sells I know it’s pricy just wondering if anyone has any input on the sound. I am looking for something nothing crazy just a little deeper then stock. Also that gm system still keeps the warranty so that’s not to bad I guess.

I have the Borla system, dual rear on my 2015 Silverado 1500, 5.3L. I really like it because it actually sounds like a TRUCK now. In my opinion, it's a little tame but overall, I'm still extremely happy with the purchase!

If I was 18 years old again, I would hate it.... lol.

If you're fine with the high price-point, I'd say do it.

Thanks for the feed back I’m going to see if I can beat the dealer up on the price a bit.

Hey just a update I got a quote from the dealer with tips they wanted 1375$ for the GM Borla. Which was kinda a lot. I found after reading and watching a ton of videos. I ordered the MagnaFlow 15360. My question I was just researching removing the flapper/valve is that a big issue? I read people say leave it or reinstall it on the new system some said don’t put it in.

I went with muffler delete and later added a magaflo muffler. Didn’t remove anything else. Leaving the flapper valve in those instances didn’t eliminate the V4 chopper sound. I tuned that out with a hand held.

why did you add Magnaflow after the muffler delete?   to quiet it down, chance the tone, etc?

I am thinking about a muffler/flapper delete

After turning 60 I didn’t want my daily driver to make noise anymore. I have other rides for that. My GMC was the most silent truck I ever owned. Usually I would put exhaust on to mask the other noise.

Well my 2 options are I ordered a Magnaflow cat back 15360 kit which is the kit I want. If the drone is horrible I will order the GM Borla kit with flapper valve dual out the back. and bring it to a local shop to have them bend and install the pipes behind the rear tires which is what I want. I am hoping this Magnaflow kit is good and don’t drone that bad. Amazing though GM makes a kit dual out the back dual out one side but can’t make one out each side really?

interesting, I have heard the muffler delete isn't all that loud...more like what you would expect a stock v8 truck to sound like.
