I went from a V6 4Runner to a double cab Silverado LT with the 5.3 V8 and 6-speed transmission.  The 4Runner was awesome, it was lifted and could go anywhere.  With the rear seats folded down, it could carry a decent amount of cargo, mountain bikes, etc.  But the V6 was kind of lame, and I always felt cramped sitting inside (I'm tall).  I believe the new Taco's have a similar V6 option, but no V8.  Overall fit and finish was ok, but not anything special.

The Silverado is roomier, quieter, and more powerful.  I no longer feel cramped when I am driving.  Overall the Silverado is much more "refined" inside and out, and it can tow and haul significantly more than the 4Runner.  And it gets better gas mileage stock than my lifted 4Runner.

As mentioned above, test drive both.  For the Silverado, make sure you try a few different engine/transmission/rear end gear ratio combinations.  The 5.3 6-speed w/the 3.08 rear didn't impress me, but the 3.42 with the same engine and trans felt decent, so I went for it.  I still slightly regret not getting a 6.2, but I don't tow enough to justify the extra cost.

You can get a 2018 GMC Denali from Laura GMC for 41K right now.

That’s a steal. The I’ll have to check there. Those have magnetic ride shocks don’t they?

Yea i regret not getting the 6.2 425 HP only because they get 20 mpg stock just like the 5.3 355 hp, for a couple of hundred dollars in mods you can get another 25 HP out of each motor

someone looked at the D.I.C. after i filled up and seen 530+ miles to empty he said your mpg thingy  is way off .LOL I told him  I drive to south carolina border before i think about gas ! and I am  from  the middle of  long island NY, unbelievable for a full size Gasser , forget the diesel other than the crazy torque , there really is no reason to get a diesel  the emission systems really screwed up  the attraction to them
